I can only imagine how much more money I’d be worth if I were on a show that long. But I know I wouldn’t have had as much fun. Since I started back in November of 2005 I have posted 1,645 entries. This is amazing to me because I thought if I post something each day I would run out of ideas in two weeks. But somehow I manage to find new topics, even if I know nothing at all about them. Never let ignorance stand in the way of a good rant.
Anyway, many thanks to all of you for coming here. Without you I’m just writing volumes of material that will never be read – in other words, my spec screenplays.
But it’s been a great ride and I’ve met a lot of terrific new people – fifteen more just this past weekend at the Sitcom Room seminar (hope you guys had as much fun as I did).
As I like to do on these momentous occasions, I’d love to hear from you – especially you new readers and longtime lurkers. Who are you? Where you from? How did you stumble upon this blog? What do you like and don’t like (besides Patty Heaton)? Do you know any good restaurants in Santa Monica? Please leave your responses in the comments section. Thanks much.
On to the next four years. Who knew my little blog would outlive NBC?
Thanks again.
Ken
18, nearly 19-year-old male from England. Found you linked on a Frasier forum maybe three years ago, been reading every day since. Love everything, from deleted scenes to Idol recaps.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Ken -- your site always gives me insight into the workings of situation comedy -- and even when you don't, you usually give me a heckuva laugh.
ReplyDeleteMilestones are great; sometime this week, I expect to post the 1,000th entry at my blog about classic Hollywood, "Carole & Co."
Found you on a blogroll about a year ago, and I really look forward to your posts every night. I'm a professional musician and amateur writer, and your stories about the biz and the craft are entertaining and illuminating (I really enjoy your sense of humor). I've loved a lot of the shows that you worked on over the years. I would like to take your seminar someday, not because I would ever work on a TV show, but because I think it would be hysterical fun.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on making it four years - that's a lifetime in internet years!
ReplyDeleteI found you from a link at another blog - probably Mark Evanier's - about 3 years ago. I click here every couple of days and I wouldn't change a thing.
WV: Ropsio - the twine equivalent of the Chia Pet, Mood Ring and Pet Rock.
I came here via Mark Evanier's blog. He told me you blog was interesting and funny. However (and I really don't mean to be rude) he told me there would be refreshments.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ken, I've enjoyed reading.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Ken on 4 years of blogging!
ReplyDeleteI'm a 50ish resident of the Seattle area.I found your blog from a link on "A Writer's Life" which is written by my cousin, Lee. I also listened to you when you broadcast the Seattle Mariners games with Dave Niehaus and have enjoyed your work on some of my favorite TV shows.
Wow, Ken...Congrats on your 4th Anniversary of blogging! Your varied posts are always entertaining and part of my regular site checks!
ReplyDeletePssh. Only four years? Lazy ass. Make it last much longer than that! ;)
ReplyDeleteIn all very necessary honesty, congratulations! You give me a reason to procrastinate for at least a few minutes every day. And then a few minutes after that. And a few more minutes after that. And still more minutes after that.
Ken---
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. You are definitely a "favorite place" for me. And I think your Dodger work is terrific as well.
Can't wait for the new season of Idol recaps with Ms. Degeneres.
4 years--Congratulations! Couldn't tell you how I found you, but I know I'm glad I did. I'm TV junkie living in Las Vegas. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge about the industry and especially your stories. I'm really looking forward to the book.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and love the blog. You have managed to do two things I have dreamed of doing: writing comedy and broadcasting baseball. I am a history professor and learned so much about how to lecture from the same man from whom you learned how to write and tell a story: Vin.
ReplyDeleteAs to running out of ideas, the only worthwhile comment George Will ever made was disagreeing with a quote from poet Stephen Leacock: writing is easy--you just write down what occurs to you; it's the occurring that's hard.
Four years is an awesome achievement! I think I was directed here by James Wolcott. I come here every day because come hell, high water or baseball playoffs, you post something every day. Which is more than I can say for Wolcott.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your generosity in writing for free when you could be well paid for it.
Has NBC gone out of business? Please advise. You have all the inside information.
Happy Four Years, Ken. You have lasted because you do have something to offer...and i enjoy reading.
ReplyDeleteI heard about your blog from listening to Rob Long's podcast "Martini Shot"
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. I enjoy reading you very much.
ReplyDeletep.s. bring back the contests.
Happy Anniversary! Found your blog on a site about television. Love it all even though I'm not a baseball fan. Really enjoy the stuff about your teenage years. Have you seen the new Rhino Nuggets collection "Where the Action Is"? It's LA bands from 1965-1968. I'd be interested if you saw any of them live. It's a 4 Cd collection, the listing of bands are on Amazon and the Rhino site. Take care, and keep posting.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this blog! You are the first site I visit every morning (except for www.youngbeavers.com). You are a good man, Ken Levine.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, loved meeting you in Cincinnati, and I hope you can keep the blog running for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteRaji Barbir;
ReplyDeleteBeen lurking for about a year. I'm a photographer, used to be 3D animator.
Wanted to get into directing but figured I'd need to learn to write before I could direct. Then realized I needed to at least be able to shoot one good image at a time before shooting 24 every second. Now I'm a photographer, but I still hang on to screenwriting and directing. In fact I wrote and directed a film in February that I still haven't found time to put together. That brings my total number of crappy short films that will never take me anywhere to a whopping 16!
Born in Lebanon, live in Salt Lake City. No, I'm not mormon.
Likes and dislikes:
I like long walks on the smelly great salt lake beaches.
I don't like getting shot in the balls.
I got here by Googling 'I love Katherine Heigl'. Four years of cheers from New Zealand Ken.
ReplyDeleteI have been aware of you as a screenwriter for years (MASH). I recognized your name from a piece you wrote for the Huff Post and in the brief bio there was a link to your blog – been reading you ever since.
ReplyDeleteGood !
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your fourth anniversary! I'm a nineteen year old student at USC (a science major though, no screenwriting/directing/whatever else they spend all the funding on in my future.) I found the blog after the Criminal Minds Fanatic blog linked to your "Mandy Patinkin decision" post and have been reading ever since. I've also been working through your archives when I'm procrastinating and have about eight months left of posts before I need to find another activity.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the entertainment, both through your blog and through your scripts, and here's to many more years.
Congratulations on your four years. I'm in the UK, male , 45 yo and I found you linked to a Frasier forum. I click on you every morning (that's saucy British innuendo) and thoroughly enjoy your posts.
ReplyDeleteHope you keep it going for many more years.
Ken, I am a 28 year old father of two from the UK. I came across your board as a Joss Whedon fan when your post regarding Dollhouse maybe shootng at your home was linked at a Joss Whedon site. I have been hooked ever since. I make this my first stop in surfing each morning, and as a writer, I learn a lot, but more importantly it gives me a huge laugh. So thanks, and I'm looking forward to four more years.
ReplyDeletePS - I didn't know anyone could hate Patty Heaton! How can you hate a performer you don't personally know? (except, obviously, Lady Douche Douche)
Congratulations, Ken!
ReplyDelete44 year old father of 2 girls. Live in North Texas.
ReplyDeleteGot to your blog from a recommendation in the comments from another blog I read (a political one).
I love movies (worked in one in high school and then managed a few after college) and I love TV.
I'm probably one of the viewers that you hate. For both movies and TV I could not tell you who directed them or wrote them (and before reading your blog I really did not care). I am now trying to at least pay attention to the writers, but I have not mustered up enough to care about who directs.
I like to sit down and be completely engrossed. I don't really care if they are a first time writer or director or have done many hits. If I can take something away from the viewing then they are successful. If not, then they fail.
Congratulations. I found you via James Wolcott. I love your blog even the baseball items. This leads me to my question - why can't LA fans show up in time for a playoff game? I noticed in one of the games with the Phillies that even by the third inning the seats behind home plate were still not filled. What's with these people?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 4th anniversary, Ken! I am a 45-year-old mother of two in upstate NY. I found your blog a few years ago by following a link on Hoffmania. I love the behind-the-scenes stories about your TV shows and your insights into the writing process. I like knowing that you will have at least one new post per day. Really enjoy the Friday questions, too. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteWhat I learned on my first musical.
ReplyDeleteI was reading the Huffington Post last year at the same time I was stage managing "A Little Night Music" for our community theatre. I loved that article and I read you every day.
Congratulations, Ken!
ReplyDeleteim a 22 years old girl from Spain, i found you linked on a spanish writer's blog about a year and a half ago, been here ever since.
i love evertyhing!
keep up the good work
Wow, Ken. I've been reading your blog for almost all of the four years.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. It's really hard to consistently deliver daily blog quality.
In this case, I don't mind being an "old timer". I still flinch when some 20-something year old at the Circle K calls me ma'am, but old timer on the Ken Levine blog is fine by me.
Thanks for all the laughs, the cool stories about tv shows that I love, the insight into character, dialogue and other important craft tools. I wish more television shows on today were as entertaining as your blog.
wv is sworelit = new fiction genre -- curse words in every line of dialogue
You gotta get on Twitter. That's where all the sitcom deals are being made these days -- he says, as he puts the gun to his temple.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteMale, 54, Dodger fan that works in the entertainment industry.
Tell Arlene that we can't get to playoff games in time for the Star Spangled Banner because the networks schedule them at a time when east coasters are home after dinner in front of the TV but Angelenos are stuck in rush hour. We're doing the best that we can.
And I like the 'growing up in Los Angeles' and travel posts the best.
Jim 7
I think I saw a link on the on the timetowrite blog and as I had always loved cheers and frasier I thought I would check your blog out.
ReplyDeleteUnlike virtually all other blogs it was actually funny and informative.
I would like to complain about your work though Ken. As I have now become Norm - an overweight, unemployed accountant who drinks far too much I waste far too much time watching Frasier and Mash on comedy central here in the UK, rather than looking for work or doing my own writing.
I do have a question. What would be the best way to copy all your jokes and storylines and just disguise it enough to get away with it?
Greetings and congrats from Northern Ontario. Can't remember how I found your blog (got oldtimer's) but I've come back every day since, over a year now.
ReplyDeleteThe shows that you've written for were all very dear to me and now I feel very privileged to "know" you. Thank you so much for all you've given us here. I look forward to the next four years.
I'm a Chicago guy, a little younger than you, likes TV, movies, comedy, baseball, so I was very glad to run across your blog in the last year or so. Can't recall how I found it, sorry (maybe Huffington Post), but it is one of only a few I read every day without fail. Thanks very much for your great work.
ReplyDeleteFirst attempt at WV:
rensesu: What Stimpy hears when he's been found during a game of hide and seek.
Stumbled upon your blog a few weeks ago. I've been blogging for a year and a half now about whatever I feel like and recently "shamelessly" put a link to your blog on mine.
ReplyDeleteI live in the Seattle area and fondly remember you during Mariner broadcasts as you were one of the best things about that pathetic (at the time) organization.
Loved, and still quote, "Levine's Law". And also those fake traffic reports you used to give about the 520 Bridge being jammed up and to avoid it.....because you wanted a clear path to get home on the Eastside. Dang....I'll bet I'm the only guy who still remembers that.....
BowlingJoe
Long time lurker, third time commenter. And I like Patty Heaton. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't tell you anything about Santa Monica, but can tell you what restaurants to dine at if you're ever in Duluth.
Arrived here not long after you started the blog through Mark Evanier's blog. And that's all there is about that.
Greetings and congratulations from the Great White North circa Toronto! I'm a 45 year old childfree lady and can't remember how I heard about your blog but I've been reading almost every day for most of your four years. And I thank you for directing me to Earl's blog, another treat in my day! A huge thank you for your enjoyable writing. I read them all, even the baseball (not a fan) and the Idol recaps (not a watcher), and it's all funny. Thanks for the great laughs!
ReplyDeleteCongrats.
ReplyDeleteStumbled across your blog very recently.
As an Australian comedy writer making a living writing funny words in London, I find your site to be a brilliant and instructive read. Learning a lot.
I love the the shows you've been on.
Great job, Ken, your posts have been smart and funny, especially the ones about comedy writing. There are only nine blogs in my required-reading bookmarks folder, and By Ken Levine is one of them.
ReplyDeleteI've been reading for most of the four years, there was a link to it from another writing site, John August or The Artful Writer.
I caught on to your blog early when you reported on my Tuesday-night hangout, Porn Star Karaoke, in late 2005.
ReplyDeleteYour name rang a bell immediately (I have been reading credits since infancy, grandpa was a filmmaker) and I have been a regular reader ever since, putting a link in my "Daily Check" bookmark folder.
And also a link on my own blog, which could be the one Lee Franke was talking about but I doubt it.
Thanks for the inside look at TV -- another bit of history we share, I worked on game shows in the '80s -- baseball, and the laugh-out-loud travelogues.
And PSK is tomorrow if you want to drop by to follow up.
Ken,
ReplyDeleteI found you a couple of years ago via Lance Mannion. Love the blog and of course your TV work.
Was thinking of you on a long flight from San Francisco to Orlando last week. I looked up from my book to see an episode of 'Frasier' on the TV screen. It was the one where Niles left divorce papers at his old house for Maris, has second thoughts, and he and Frasier go to get them back, and are pinned inside by the Dobermans. I have no idea if you had anything to do with that episode, but I have been meaning to tell you for a while how much I love 'Frasier', and trying to keep from laughing out loud on a plane just reminded me yet again. Thanks for so many years of pure entertainment.
I can hardly believe you want to hear from us little people, but I'm happy to oblige you. Just don't ask for money. I'm a lurker who has posted once or twice. I am daily grateful for this blog of insights, humor and dedication. I'm a screenwriter with a few years behind the mast and I find your blog to be one of the sanest and most inspiring sites I've come across. Thanks. I'll look for you at the big Ten Year anniversary party!
ReplyDeleteHi Ken...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on FOUR very fun years. You are a daily morning read for me. I can't view a sitcom any more without thinking, "what would Ken think of this?" I don't know if that's good or bad. See ya at the stadium in April.
Congrats on sticking with your blog and posting with such frequency. I've been blogging on and off for eight years on various sites, but that span contains lots of breaks and probably not nearly as many posts or audience members. I'm a nearly 35 year old guy from Chicago who absolutely loves your behind the scenes tales of Hollywood and reading somebody who loves baseball but doesn't hold it up on a pedastal, and though the fact that you've been able to be paid for both writing television AND watching baseball makes me insane with envy sometimes, the fact that you seem like an awfully nice guy makes this an easier pill to swallow. I believe I, like many others, came to your site through Mark Evanier, which is appropriate since he's the other blogger I adore whose career I'm turns me green with jealousy.
ReplyDeleteKen,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on four years of blogs... You've become a legend in your spare time.
tq
Congratulations! Entertaining and informative. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteCongrats and thanks for the free entertainment. Great stuff, always. I think I found you on a random Google search when I was looking for some info on spec writing. Your blog is always worth the look. I think I mentioned once before that I'm reminded of hanging out with my father when I come here. And that makes me a very happy web surfer.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thanks again. Hope you had a blast this past weekend with the seminar.
My sister is a regular reader of your blog (unless she's anonymous, I don't she's ever commented) and, knowing I was a TV addict growing up in the '70s, she she sent me a link, and I've been reading ever since. I recognized your name immediately from MASH.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started leaving comments, I didn't realize so many of the other commentaters were professional writers. I thought they were all wannabe writers like me. I actually tried to top DMcKewan's one-liners. That didn't work out too well. Live and learn.
I'd like to offer a belated thanks to a question of mine you answered early on (the one about writers moving from cheesy shows to classy ones. I didn't thank you at the time because I was in a state of shock that you even noticed my question.
Congratulations.
Hi Ken and Congrats! I'm a Dodger fan, aspiring comedy writer, and working camera guy from Redondo Beach...been reading the blog for about 2 years and I love all the variety you post and the daily laughs I get. Can't remember where I found you at this point, but couldn't imagine a daily surf without ya - so keep posting! Also, for food in SM, El Cholo is good and Izzy's is the best Deli in the area (I like the tuna on rye).
ReplyDeleteI first knew of your work when you were the Veteran announcers broadcast partner for the mighty M's. You made a couple of tough baseball years much more bearable! I've subsequently found out from your blog that the both of us grew up in the Valley at the same time. I, however, went to Birmingham, and you attended the hated rival, Taft. Of course, Taft had the much better football team in those years.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying your blog very much and look forward to your posts. Thanks!
Happy 4th, Ken! That's the pixel anniversary, right?
ReplyDeleteYour blog is a consistent source of laughs and I've been picking through the archives for screenwriting advice and funny Oscars recaps. I'm a new reader.
ReplyDeleteSanta Monica favorites:
Fritto Misto on Colorado for pasta.
La Serenata De Garibaldi on Fourth for high-price, but high-value, Mexican food.
Thanks for the read!
Wayne from Maine here,
ReplyDeleteFound your blog while searching for Beaver Cleaver airchecks in 2006, after hearing a tape of your one night stand on 99X.Also heard you on Reel Radio. Have been addicted since day one. Really love your radio stories. By the way isn't it about time for another KRTH shift!!!!!
Congratulations on four years of blogging. I've been reading you, from Chicago, for at least three of those years -- I looked it up and discovered I first linked to a post of yours back in September 2006.
ReplyDeleteYou're a daily read and I'm grateful.
Congratulations on the anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI'm in London and get the blog on RSS; it is the final thing I read each day as I really prize deferred gratification.
I'm also grateful that all your earlier posts remain available as I use them as a reward when I need a pick-me-up. Keep giving us your insights and your wit. They are greatly appreciated!
hi ken,
ReplyDeletecongratulations on the fourth anniversary. i've been reading your blog for roughly two years now and am very glad to have found your blog back then. naturally i've been linking to your entries about all things mash for the benefit of the german commentboard for the series so they can enjoy your stories too.
all the best for the next your years!
cheers,
rita
I've been reading you since the middle of the Writer's Strike. It's never dull here and being I am West Coast, I can usually catch up with your posts most evenings.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 7 a week thing. I have been doing a blog of my own for 2 1/2 years and I know it is never a picnic.
Great work and Happy Anniversary!
Love your insights, writing tips and humor. In fact, you're listed on MY blog (it makes me look good)!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.
I'm just another faceless internet reader. I have no idea how I first got here, but like many others, it was probably from Mark Evanier's site.
ReplyDeletewv: scolarya -- How Sarah Palin finishes the sentence, "I am a scholar."
Hi there from New Zealand. Congratulations on four years. I've only been reading your blog for the past year but it's consistently entertaining, even the baseball content which, frankly, confuses the hell out of me.
ReplyDeleteFour more years?
Love the blog Ken... I can't wait to see what happens over the next 4 years...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 4 years of boring your readers.
ReplyDeleteWhat keeps me coming back?
I don't have a clue.
But perhaps I love hearing about your insights on the biz, your great stories, and absorbing all your televison writing expertise.
Plus sometimes, after I read something on your blog and laugh, you cause milk to come out of my nose.
Lucky for you I enjoy the cleansing power of milk.
Can't remember where I found the link to your site, but I'm glad I did.
All the best,
Doug
Congrats on your 4 year milestone. I've been a lurker for about a year now (since I moved to LA) and I've even dipped into the archives to see what I've missed along the way. You've given me an appreciation for my new home here in Socal. You've entertained me, made me laugh and sometimes even made me cry. Thanks for sharing a small part of yourself with all of us. It has been a treat and an honor to read.
ReplyDeleteFound you the other day because of the Chuckles Bites the Dust piece that a friend linked to. I also remember you from your Seattle Mariners days. Nice to find you again!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteI'm a graphic novelist (I kid you not, Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer is the title of my new book). Your site was recommended to me by a coworker (and Dodgers fan) back when I was a newspaper crime reporter.
Congrats Ken. Long time lurker, occasional poster here. Can't believe it's been only four years; your blog is so part of my day that I feel as if I've been reading you for ever! Found this through a link from an article - sadly, can't remember which. Thanks for all the laughs. Even though some of your baseball talk goes right over my head, I still make a point of checking this out everyday. I wish you continued inspiration.
ReplyDeleteMid 40s. I live in SoCal but I'm not in the business. Dreamed of being a writer. Maybe someday.
ReplyDeleteI said this in another comment, I'm a Credit reader, and if I like a TV show or a movie or whatever, I start reading credits and figuring out who's responsible, and then see what else they've done. I can't remember exactly how I saw this blog on my search engine results, but I recognized your name and wanted to look. And because I love Hollywood/TV behind-the-scenes stuff, I've been devouring this blog like a bowl of ice cream.
Same thing happened when I was looking at your blogroll. Earl Pomerantz?! I know that dude! (Not literally--I just recognized the name). So now I'm working through his blog. I feel like I struck a gold vein and there's no end in sight.
So it's fascinating to me to read this stuff and see reference to people whose names I know but rarely get ink elsewhere: Patchett & Tarses, David Lloyd. I'm hoping Ed. Weinberger's in here somewhere.
Thank you for making his blog. I love anecdotes--funny, serious, insightful, trivial, whatever. I hope you continue to enjoy sharing it with us for a long time to come.
I'm 71. A retiree from a bankrupt airline, so I"m back in the workforce - somewhat, but not entirely reluctantly. I don't recall where I found your blog, but once I did, I found my morning coffee ( and, more than just occasionally, my evening cocktail. You've made me laugh and you've made me cry. I'm a big fan of any pursuit that can do those two things for me. Keeps me in touch.
ReplyDeleteI'm from the DC area, and found your blog linked from Alan Sepinwall's earlier this year. It quickly became my favorite daily internet stop. Thanks for being so dedicated to this blog.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. 4 years, half the time I spent in high school. What can I say, I enjoy the piecces enough to overlook the Patricia Heaton love.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I made it just under the wire (east coast time, anyhow) to post on your official anniversary.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, kudos, and thank you, Ken. I visit your site just about every day - it's a never-fail source of information, entertainment, insights, and little blue-maned ponies who soar over glittery rainbows (just threw in that last one to see if you were paying attention.) Typically there are some genuine laughs in there as well - not a bad way to start the day!
Love it all: The snark, the pathos, the edu-tainment. My favorite posts are the Idol recaps, the behind-the-scenes stories, and the Friday questions ... but I read and enjoy them all. I was even riveted by your writers' strike coverage. The added bonus for me is the troupe of regular commenters - Douglas, Mary Stella, VP81955, Curmudgeon, Great Big Radio Guy, and the rest of the crew. What an erudite, interesting bunch of folks hang out here; being part of that is like sitting at the cool kids' table in middle school!
Oh, me: Ruth, just about 49 YO (the screen nick is from a few years ago, obviously), from the very northern Philly 'burbs. Currently unemployed - thank you, economic crisis - and trying not to lose my mind while job searching. Found your blog close to its inception, via a link posted on either the MASH or CHEERS forum on (the old version of) TWoP.
Mazel tov again, Ken - can't wait to see what's in store over the next four years! (But no pressure or anything!)
45 is the new 30 said...
ReplyDeleteThe added bonus for me is the troupe of regular commenters - Douglas, Mary Stella, VP81955, Curmudgeon, Great Big Radio Guy, and the rest of the crew. What an erudite, interesting bunch of folks hang out here; being part of that is like sitting at the cool kids' table in middle school!
Am trying to recall the last time I was referred to as "cool"...it certainly wasn't in middle school. (Especially since back in the day, I attended a junior high school!) Appreciate the "erudite," though.
BTW, tomorrow marks the centennial of the birth of a man who certainly had a way with words, Johnny Mercer. I bet Ken enjoyed his "Two Of A Kind" duet with Bobby Darin around 1962 or so.
wv: "dommo" -- the evil twin of that new 7-Eleven character; this one also has an interest in s&m.
Congratulations. You share an anniversary with the opening of "The Sound of Music" on Broadway 50 years ago. They "only" got to bat 1443 times, so you're already ahead on that score. Maybe they'll make a blockbuster movie out of your blog and you'll just keep going and going. Even though I have left an occasional remark that criticizes you, I enjoy reading your pieces and visit as often as I am able.
ReplyDeleteI like you. I really really like you. Especially when you are cranky.
ReplyDeleteI just found you through my friend who participated in the weekends sitcom room (KS). She said check you out (or rather your blog), I did and I love it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Ken, on your first four-year term of office as POTUS: Purveyor of the Untold Scoop.
ReplyDeleteI was linked to your blog from Television Without Pity a few years ago, to your story about competing with Bill Cosby for the ear of a very irritable, nicotine-deprived Mary Tyler Moore.
Having greatly enjoyed your writing, I've stuck around since, marvelling at your ability to garner insight and laughs, and to be able to post a substantial entry every single day without fail (that's dedication, esp. since you actually have a day job!)
I'm also a diehard Dodger fan, and a graduate of the same junior high and high school as yourself, so that makes your blog a one-stop shop of interest for me.
As an added bonus, you seem to have attracted a good number of dedicated and fascinating commenters in their own right, including D. McEwan and A. Buck Short, who are always a good read.
So, all I want to say is: Four more years! Four more years!
Congrats Ken on four great years! Your blog's been an integral part of my morning routine for years; keep the laughs coming!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Ken! I found you listening to Dodger Talk and wondering if you had a blog, I googled you. Then responding to a a comment in my blog to another MLB blog called Redstatebluestate.mlblogs, I clicked on one of his links (ourmaninlosangeles) and noticed he had a link to your blog!
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th and many more!
Counting the days till Pitchers and Catchers report! See you at the stadium!
Emma
I've been reading you for about 75% of your blogging time. Next year at this time, it'll be 80%, then 83.3%, then 85.7%,, then 87.5%...
ReplyDeleteThanks Ken, good review.
ReplyDelete
