The Dodgers couldn’t get Manny in May?"

that's funny.

doesn't "Manny In May" sound like a promising sitcom/reality show, like Brady Bunch meets Wife Swap (but with kids swapped)??

one episode, parents of little Richie have committed to a swap for little Manny on the same day as a friend's wedding. mr and mrs. manny, sr are running late and lost but little richie's parents have already rented a tux for Manny. drama builds as they don't want to be late for the wedding.

bright idea, manny's parents call and offer to make the swap at the wedding. they agree.

manny meets up just in time for the reception. little richie lives up to his reputation during the wedding (why he needs to be swapped in the first place) but at the reception manny and richie go at it. little richie flings cherry Jell-O shots and manny pulls a MacGuyver, finding empty balloons and fills them, a la strawberry punch water balloons.

head for the hills everyone, and richie's parents notice the little inventive qualities of manny and struggle as they reconsider their swap for manny.

oh, couldn't they have had Manny in May?? :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19336675.post-46962307947671297742008-08-04T22:32:00.000-07:002008-08-04T22:32:00.000-07:00Ken,I was at the game yesterday and I must admit t...Ken,
I was at the game yesterday and I must admit the electricty was pretty cool with Manny being there. She wouldn't have done it for you.

And Dodger fans? Forget having Manny beyond this season. Someone in the AL will make him the highest paid DH ever. He ain't gonna play where he has to play defense.

I loved his bat in Boston, but his antics got to be really tiresome. In fact, what is your writing schedule like when you have another "full-time" job being a Dodger pre/post game show host?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19336675.post-26008079697744342192008-08-03T21:52:00.000-07:002008-08-03T21:52:00.000-07:00I actually thought Colleti made a couple of good m...I actually thought Colleti made a couple of good moves early on and then apparently the toxins in the LA air supply ate his brain. I was willing to give him a pass on Schmidt, I figured he must know something that I don't since he'd seen him action with the Giants (and to be fair he had pretty decent numbers a couple of years for them) but the Andruw Jones signing was indefensible (the opposite of Jones, who requires no defense since he can't hit or run). Thank god the Giants got to Zito before Colleti, I'm sure he's still stewing over missing out on him.

But that all said, the Manny trade was a great move and in the anemic NL West he'll be an offensive God compared to everyone else.

Obviously Manny and Boras know a good mark when they see one. Manny will hit 20 homers, get the Dodgers into the play-offs, get a 8 year, 200 million dollar contract from Colleti, and then spend the rest of his time here playing crazy eights with Jones in the clubhouse.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19336675.post-50161885683158244892008-08-03T20:58:00.000-07:002008-08-03T20:58:00.000-07:00As a Sox fan: Enjoy Manny.
