I will read and critique your script

As you know, my one blog related rule is that time doesn't permit me to read and critique scripts. I'd have to give up such luxuries as sleeping and eating. But I am making an exception for a good cause. The Dodgers are sponsoring their second annual "Think Cure" radiothon, raising money for cancer research. So for their on-line auction I have volunteered to read someone's spec script and share my thoughts and suggestions. I am also donating three signed scripts -- "Point of View" and "None Like It Hot" from MASH and the two-part "Never Love a Goalie" from CHEERS.

There are also a lot of other fun items up for bid (some even baseball related) and again, it's for a great cause. The auction ends Monday.

Here's where to go.

Please bid. I'd hate to think a script review by me brings in less money than autographed Chicken Foot drum sticks.

Many thanks.

  1. I wish I could bid on the "Visit with Vin." My mom would love it.

Vin Scully welcomed my mom a happy sweet 16 during a Dodgers game. So as not to reveal my mother's age, I will say the Dodgers were in Cincinnati for an away game then.

  2. You have no idea how tempting it is to make sure that the winning bid for autographed Chicken Foot drum sticks is higher than the bid for your script critique:) Still it's all for charity.

  3. who is the Cheers script signed by? I'm just wondering if it's your signature, the cast's signature, etc. Thanks!

  4. If I buy the scripts, does it include all remaining residuals in perpetuity?

  6. That reminds me - Alan Alda still owes me a signed copy of The Last Days of M*A*S*H.

I wrote one of the articles that was included. Publisher gave me a choice of $50 or the autographed tome. I chose the latter, but never saw it. I think I ended up buying the book.

At this point I'd rather have the $50. Which I would use towards my bid on the Chicken Foot thingy.

  7. Coming from Australia and given our currency exchange I doubt my $15.75 will cut it BUT a great cause and we should donate anyway (with or without a possible gift outcome). :)

  11. ken, why don't you just make up a fake name and bid against wanna-be writers with no money... you won't have to spend much to win, it's probably 90% tax deductible, and you don't have to waste your time reading someone's spec... or are you already ahead of me? it's very larry david...

  12. Happy to have placed the winning bid, and I hope they'll actually ship it the right place (since they don't ask for a shipping address, and require a signature. At home. Where I'm not. Except on the weekend. When they won't deliver.)

    Who *is* it signed by?

wv: beduc: what happened to my sister last year.
