A great commercial you'll never see

This is for Bud Lite Lime. It's a Canadian commercial.

  1. Don Draper's boys sure had some fun with this one. I'll bet Peggy left the room in a huff, though.

  2. It was reminiscent of the SNL commercials during the Phil Hartman years.

A commercial I find funny and that you will see in the US is the one for Allied Electronics.

When I first saw it, all I could think was that it wouldn't last and that busybodies would object to workplace violence.

  3. Ken, it's aired in the USA. Because it's an American commerical.

  4. I think this commercial should be canned.

I could only get in in the can all summer. Unfortunately it doesn't taste as good in the can as it does in the bottle.

  6. Who the heck drinks Bud Light in Canada? That's like living in Belgium and eating Milk Duds. Blechhh.

  7. If it's Canadian, why wouldn't I see it? Vancouver is in Canada. And believe me, there's a lot of people that like it in the can, here.

Here's the question, though. If you drink enough, is it inevitable that you eventually get it in the can?

I wanted it in a can, but it came in a box. Believe me, even that was an accomplishment.

  10. Definitely an American commercial... references to the 21 drinking age, "12 fl. oz" on the can instead of "355 mL" and the copyright give it away. (I will say this, though... BLL was the hit of the summer in Western Canada, to the point of shortages. I tried one, shrugged, and went back to Pilsner.)

I also suspect this was made exclusively for the Web. How many 45-second commercials are there on TV?

  11. Personally, I think it would have also been a great commercial for flu shots...

  12. It's not about getting it in the can, the debate here is about getting it in Canada.

    @ Geoff:

Pilsner? Ugh! What Prarie province are you from? ;)

  14. Ahh, you get an e-mail from Molson's nowadays and at the bottom it says "Coors Brewing Co., Golden, Colo.", so cross-border commercials between the U.S. and Canada from a Dutch company like Anheuser-Busch shouldn't be a big surprise.

The one with the 7-and-5 football team. How's 5-and-7 working for you? ;)
