My only complaint, Western Kentucky's wrestling match clearly was invoking The Rock, someone the college kid doing commentary shoulda been familiar with. Rock Bottom, People's Elbow, good times : )
I've heard of "Rain Delay Theater", but what those two teams did took that idea to another level. Sheer comedy, particularly the wrestling spoof by W. Kentucky.
I think this kind of thing should be required in every MLB player's contract. It's important to never take yourself too seriously, and to find new and interesting ways to entertain the people who really pay you - your fans.

Well, it's not quite Rick Dempsey at Fenway Park, but it's close...
ReplyDeleteIf baseball was like this all the time, I might actually watch it.

ReplyDeleteThe "roller coaster" is a good one
ReplyDeleteLove that there are still some people who understand what "sport" means!
ReplyDeleteMakes me proud to be an American. Seriously. Cultures worried about losing "face" wouldn't dream of doing something that fun.
