Check out this bizarre TRIPLE play

From a AAA game between Nashville and Omaha. Here's how it works: runners at first and second. Fly ball to center. The ball glances off the outfielder's glove, then head, but he manages to catch the ball before it hits the ground. Both runners were on the move. The outfielder fired to second to double-up one and on to first to complete the triple play. Have a look.

    Quite a play! And I didn't realize that Andy Samberg played CF for the Nashville Sounds.

    That was SO COOL!

    Reminds me of a play late in the crazy '73 NL East pennant race.
    The Mets were playing the Pirates at Shea, I think, and the ball was smacked by a Pirates hitter almost over the wall, but it hit the front corner of the top of the wall and bounced straight into LF Cleon Jones' glove. He threw out the runner trying to score from first.
    That was one of the strangest plays I've seen, but this tops it.

    Mike - that's the famous "Ball Off the Wall Play" in Mets lore. I think the hitter was Richie Zisk.. Cleon Jones threw it to Wayne Garrett, who relayed it to Ron Hodges at the plate...

    I've always thought the triple play is the most beautiful thing in all sports. There's nothing like seeing one what it actually happens, and not on tape.

    I didn't have the audio on, how long was it until the announcers said "That's using your head!"?

    I think my all time favorite play by a minor league outfielder is still this one.
