Definitely an intriguing measure of age. After about #70-75, I recognized the artist(s), but not the song. #85 to 100-neither the song title nor the artist(s) meant anything to me. I wonder if it works in the other direction, to indicate youth? Of course, to scholars of rock and pop, age means diddly.
Wow! That was incredible! It makes want to on some classic albums right now. I knew about 80 songs really well, right across the board. The 1980's was my weakest era.

DeleteVery impressive. Two big omissions. No Beach Boys or Kinks? And considering how old I am there were at least a dozen bands that I had never heard of.

You are right Blaze, It probably works in reverse. I doubt most 20 year olds know who Buddy Holly or other early rock n rollers are.
