Thanks!

Thanks for your encouragement on my podcast venture.  And thanks for your input.  Just as I don't want my blog posts to be too long for easy consumption, I don't want my podcasts to wear out their welcome.   So a half-hour to maybe forty minutes it shall be (unless I get a great interview and then the length will be whatever).

I will let you know the progress.  I hope to get it off the ground very soon.   Thanks again.

Podcast? Yes, please! At some point in time, I used to download Dodger Talk from iTunes to listen to you. Looking forward to it!

  2. Would love to listen. Your Friday Questions is one the highlights of my week.

  4. Still, you should take your own advice about an interview. If you have one that's 90 minutes, you should offer it in half chunks.

  5. How will you work in gratuitous Natalie Wood pictures into a podcast? :)

  6. Too bad you didn't start this when Kevin McCarthy or Dana Wynter was still alive. They'd be perfect guests with which to start something called a "podcast."

  7. An answer to @Stuart's question might be to start off each podcast with a snippet of Natalie Wood movie dialog. 'This Property Is Condemned' (my favorite) has a ton of good ones.

  8. LMK if you need help setting up your podcast studio. Also, interested in your distribution scheme. iTunes? Link off your blog? Will there be commercials?

  9. Can Bill Persky be your first interview?

  11. I'm thinkin' broadcast from your bed with your wife as co-host.
(Think different beds in different cities as you travel.....
    same wife of course.)
Call it California Confidential, CaliCon, CaliCool, etc.....
    and yer off!

    And then we're all screwed!

I foresee this oddcast as laying the foundation for LEI (Levine Enterprises Incorporated). The podcast will be free, sure......for awhile. The blog will become available only through subscription levels (that culminate at the Platinum-Plus Level which does include physical contact of some type, so there's that.) T-Shirts, CD's, DVD's, merchandise up the wazoo (literally, considering the Signature Speedo and Butt Plug lines.)

Then......then.....you begin to pay the price for your success....your wife demands a seperate bedroom; you begin co-hosting with the dog.....Jeff Ross features you on one of the Comedy House Invasion shows; your Natalie Wood/Dreidel-print onesie alternately shocks and frightens the Nation....MLB bans ALL of its employees from appearing on the show due to the Manny Ramirez Interprets Shakespeare debacle....but the Christmas Special put it over the top; who thinks that Gilbert Gottfried is going to fool ANYone as Santa....WHO?

The future need not turn out this way. Keep it free....keep it cool....keep it short.....keep it Cali. We'll all get through this.....somehow.

  12. Here's one of the great things about Podcast. There is no set length. You can do 60 minutes one week and 45 the next. Just use what you got and if its shorter or longer who cares.

  13. Dear Ken,

I would like to suggest a wild idea for your podcasts; short audio plays that you would write and produce using mp3 submissions by the blog-faithful who would be known as "The Levine Podcast Players". E-mail the lines to each player and mix and edit the audio submissions into a coherent play. Hey, couldn't be any worse than Frasier Crane's "Nightmare Inn"!

Disclosure" I'm kinda drunk right now!
