Weekend Post: Come see my plays

Hey LA peeps!   I've got two short plays in the finals of the Brisk Festival in Hollywood Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 6 at the Broadwater Theatre on Santa Monica Blvd. just west of Vine.   It's a strong program of the 10 best plays of the 54 produced.  I'm lucky enough to have both of mine in the finals.  Anyway, it's a fun night and I could use your votes.   Here's where you go for tickets.  I'll be there both nights so say hi.   Who says there isn't great theatre in Los Angeles?   Well, until you find it swing by for a night of laughs and fun.

  1. Question: I hadn't realized that Linda Morris and Vic Rauseo, who co-wrote half-a-dozen episodes of FRASIER, were husband and wife. Their "Daphne's Room" is a favorite of mine. Are there many husband and wife writing teams? Seems like it would be hard to have your writing partner be the person you're going home to at night.

  2. Break a leg, Ken!

I'm going to try my hand at my first play soon. What software do you use for writing your plays?

  3. I love the premise of Noir Man. If I lived in Los Angeles I would be there.

  4. Like Peter said, break a leg Ken.

Unfortunately I can't make it this weekend, but hope I can in the future. I just got the M*A*S*H Complete Collection DVD box set and would love if you could maybe autograph it for me sometime. :-)

Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett ("The Thin Man," "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" among others)

Irving Ravetch and Harriet Frank, Jr. ("Hud," "Norma Rae," "Murphy's Romance," among others)

Those are two that are prominent in that kind of Hollywood history.

  6. Very sorry to miss out, I remarkably was out both nights this weekend.

So... didja win? Or like an Oscar race with two actors from the same movie nominated, did you split the vote?
