I am not a pornographer

There's some company called Sonicwall which has classified my blog as "pornography". I guess the photo of Tina Fey below is too suggestive. Anyway, there's a site you can go to and request a re-classification. Perhaps arts/entertainment? Maybe fitness? If you've got nothing to do you're welcome to let them know that I give writing advice not show hot girl-on-girl action. Thanks. Now back to the holiday mood.

  1. I've done my part by asking them to re-review as arts/entertainment.

But I do need to point out that my verification word is ELFHONG, so the blogosphere forces may be working against you...

  2. I too have requested a re-rating. Next time, keep your discussion of Viagra to a strictly medical level!

    Always enjoy the blog, Ken.

  3. Your blog pornography? May God forgive me for some of the sites I have looked at.

  4. It's probably just because you've used the word "fuck" a few times.

I went to a site that rates blogs as if they were movies, and my blog was rated NC-17 simply based on using the term "zombie" more than once.

  5. I put in my two cents worth to them.

  6. I requested a change to Arts/Entertainment. I thought it was interesting that the top ten choices for re-classification were all related to sex and violence. Shows what the Sonic Wall people are thinking of.

  7. Ken:

Is there any case to be made that you have inadvertantly titled your next show:

    "I AM NOT A PORNOGRAPHER"

  8. I don't care what you say: I'm still masturbating to your blog.

  9. The post entitled "As Promised: PORN STARS!" couldn't have had anything to do with this, could it?

  10. Ken,

I ran (did not walk) to that link, chose "Arts/Entertainment." and left a tart clarification that you are in no way a ...

    ... well, you know.

  11. I think it may have something to do with 'Little Dougie's' reminiscenses about the gay old times he used to have at Disneyland. :)

  12. I tried to go to the web page to requst a re-rating but my computer here at work has it blocked!

That being said, my computer doesn't have "by Ken Levine" blocked so Websense must not have that pornography rating for it!

Thank God for that! I don't know what I'd do without my daily dose of Ken Levine Porn!

  13. the other Ken Levine, the one who's the lead developer for the video game "Bioshock," is referred to on XBox360FanBoy.com as "Pimp Supreme Ken Levine." I wonder if this has anything to do with it.

    I am obviously a world-class nerd.

  14. Ken,

Are you crazy? This is the best thing that could've happened to you. You'll get far more hits as a porn site than an arts and entertainment one.

  15. I'm indignant for you! I just linked over and wrote a very empassioned request for a ratings change; to be consistent, I too suggested the "Arts/Leisure" designation. I wonder if some sour grapes made their way over there during the strike last year? (Paranoid? Who are you calling paranoid??! ;-)

At any rate, hope my two cents will help.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

  16. It's funny because in the world of network security, Sonicwall is no small potatoes. It does probably have something to do with the reference to porn stars... Their algorithm must be really sensitive.

  17. Mr L:

"Their algorithm must be really sensitive."

    Is yours?!?!? ;)

Rest assured, I immediately went to the website & requested that you be re-classified to the Arts/Entertainment category.
Of course, now that I've given them my email address & opinion,my web-browsing has probably marked me as a Pervert.

    Well ___ Such is Life.

  18. Levine, you magnificent bastard, it was the photo of Julia Louis-Dreyfus that caused the fuss.

    [insert eye roll]

  19. The pic of Kate Winslet's nipple earlier this year probably did you no favors :-)

  20. "jbryant said...

More than a little coincidental and ironic, since I just arrived home an hour ago from two days at Disneyland (My calfs ACHE! I'm old.), and no additional frolics of a questionable nature occurred, beyond my getting in a shouting match in the line at the Frontierland train station with a religious boob who expressed his gratitude for the Mormon Church "Saving California from Gay Marriage."

Apparently "reminiscing" is all I can do anymore.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to find a blog that IS by a pornographer, so I can - ah - "reminisce."

But THIS blog pornographic? If only... (Someone has a very low standard of pruriant response!)

(Oooh, my word verification is "undisser", just what you've asked us all to be.)

  21. Wow.

Okay, two requests, for my favorite porn pusher...

    MORE TINA FEY.

    MORE NATALIE WOOD.

Let 'em slap themselves silly over THOSE pictures!

    I remain,
    Sincerely,

  22. Ken,

Just heard from Ernest Borgnine... He thinks your blog is just fine where it's classified -- but he couldn't talk long.

  23. Ken, I added my 2 cents worth but we still love you, porn or no!

  24. I went. I commented.

    My comment:
It is NOT pornography. It is an entertaining blog written by one of the elite tv writers, and its content is primarly advice to writers and humor.
If a human, rather than an automated filter, classified Levine's blog as pornography, that human is an idiot.

  25. All you West Coast liberals are considered pornographers by those of us who live in "Real America".

Sorry - I tried to type that with a straight face, but couldn't do it.

    Keep up the good work

  26. hot dang! why would someone do such a stupid thing?!?

anyway... just went over there and filled in their form.

  27. They probably won't like the way I chose to "ask" for a reclassification, but it's done. What a bunch of idiots. Your URL is *still* listed as "porn."

  28. I requested that you be re-classified as a Cultural Institution. Because you are.
