From HaphazardStuff.com comes this great video:

  1. Funny... while this is a send-up of a certain 70's style, it still works well as an intro.

    "Book 'em, Jar-Jar."

    "Me-suh book 'em, Mr. McGarrett!"

  3. Am I the only one who noticed they left Carrie Fisher off the credits? They have her picture, but there's no text.

Sorry, I make a living as a proofreader, so the type is the stuff I notice first.

It's a fun video, but they left out Dan-o's name!

  4. I missede the Carrie Fisher credit too. Bummer.

  5. I think it was no accident - she'd be out of place in the traditional credit sequence of the original Hawaii Five-O series of 1968-80, which had all-male credits despite a few shots of a belly dancer (perhaps the new series has a female star credited?)

  6. I don't know if they're any Doctor Who fans reading this blog, but if you're out there, here's DW done as the Dallas open: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EUqwkoPsV0

  7. Come to think of it, there's also Star Wars done as Dallas. A lot of people have WAY too much time on their hands. Wish I was one of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAHYftmwY0U&feature=related

  8. And here's one more: Star Wars as The A-Team. I can't believe there are so many of these on the interwebz. What a great era we live in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAHYftmwY0U&feature=related

  9. Yes, I noticed the omission of Carrie Fisher too. The new show does credit Grace Park but still, 1970s homage or no, I'd have credited her before thinking of namechecking the Wookie.

  10. (Just realised this is the first time I've commented here. Two years or whatever it is of enjoying the blog and it's this I pick on. Let me put that right: hello, long time reader, first time caller, I relish the blog.)

  12. Actually, KF and gottacook, there WAS a female regular in the original series--for the show's final season, there was an all new supporting cast that included a woman.

Didn't Space:1999 have those exact same credits and music?

  14. Paul Duca: I had no idea about the all-new supporting cast in the final season; thanks.

  15. The new series does credit Linda Park, I think... and I believe -- though it's a bit too loud here for me to be certain -- that that's the 2010 theme, not the 60s version.

  16. Oops; Grace Park. Guess I had Star Trek on the brain, instead of Star Wars...
