A Christmas show by Matthew Weiner & me

Here's a BECKER Christmas episode, written by Matthew Weiner (creator of MAD MEN) and directed by me.  I wonder -- whatever happened to Matt?  For that matter, whatever happened to me?

Merry Christmas

  1. Wow! Thanks, Ken, for making a mighty bright Saturday morning for me.

I LOVED Becker! Loved the cast, the story line. Sad that it is out of syndication. I could watch it again and again.

Has Dave Hackel totally retired, enjoying the fruits of his labor. Money? Great, creative mind.

Had to be one of the elements of your life that was the most fun.

    I envy you.

    Merry Christmas.

  5. Totally unrelated but after the posts from a few days ago about long-playing songs to take bathroom breaks by, it's sad to see that Lee Dorman, the bass player from Iron Butterfly just passed away. The last station I worked at had an oldies format so on the final day of the final shift we interrupted the automation that the soon-to-be-former owners had instituted when they made the decision to sell the station and played what we wanted with the final song being the album version of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" [just a little over 17 minutes of aural ecstasy]. And with that tune we went off the air and into oblivion.

  7. wait a minute... I didn't read that properly - Matthew Weiner wrote Becker? I'd no idea. I saw him getting an award once and he was really funny, not like a serious drama guy - that would explain it!

  8. Matt wrote 9 episodes of Becker, all of them terrific, 12 Soprano scripts and a few other shows. His funny stuff was very funny, and the crime stuff was, well, criminal.
