It's from 1981. This photo was included in a Huffington Post '80s celebrity photo set, which also has one with the caption 'Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey, Jr. at a Michael Dukakis Benefit Cocktail Party.'
She is a national treasure. A friend once told me he saw her in a high school play and everybody knew even then she was destined to accomplish great things. Even though Mike Nichols, Kevin Kline, and Stanley Tucci appeared in person to salute her at the Kennedy Center Honors, I was perplexed by the absence of Dustin Hoffman, Robert Redford, Jeremy Irons, Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson, Steve Martin, and Alec Baldwin. I thought a tape piece featuring these leading men, at the very least, was in order.
Speaking of "Death Becomes Her," this now makes me wonder whether D.C.-area native Goldie Hawn has ever taken Metrorail on her various returns to town. It opened in '76, when Goldie already was famous...but if she wanted anonymity, she probably would have had to put on her fat suit from "Death Becomes Her" (which she is said to have refused to appear in when her young son, Oliver, came on the set for fear of frightening him...no wonder he has become a near pro-level hockey goalie).
