Getting you ready for the Oscars, Ken has compiled lots of fun facts about the Academy Awards including people who never won. This interesting and fact packed episode contains many surprises! A must listen for all movie lovers!
Your podcast was very entertaining and informative in many ways (never heard of the "face-plant" Leo McCarey did at the foot of Billy Wilder!).
One correction: You mentioned that Henry Fonda did not win an Academy Award in competition. That is incorrect. He won for "On Golden Pond" in 1982 up against Warren Beatty (Reds); Burt Lancaster (Atlantic City); Dudley Moore (Arthur); and Paul Newman (Absence of Malice). Jane Fonda accepted for Henry Fonda, who was too ill to attend the ceremony.
Looking forward to listening to this. It's astonishing when one remembers that Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock never won Best Director Oscars, but Mel Gibson has.
Also, it's ironic that the best acting all year wasn't by Rami Malek or Glenn Close but by Jussie Smollett.
In one of the blooper reels, the major cast of Everybody Loves Raymond is in a car set. Several actors deliver their lines and then there is silence. Ray looks over at Patricia and says "That's you line, Emmy winner." Gets a big laugh from the audience and all of the actors including Patricia.

A bit of a flub in your podcast. Henry Fonda famously received an Academy Award as Best Actor for his last film On Golden Pond.
Henry Fonda did win a competitive Oscar for ON GOLDEN POND in 1981 and was given an honorary Oscar the previous year.

Henry Fonda, 1982 On Golden Pond. Jane Fonda accepted it on his behalf.
Less effective- a case of casting against type- was the President’s performance a few weeks back as a Smollett sympathizer.
Henry Fonda...
Just kidding.
M.B.
Sad to hear that Peter Tork of the Monkees has died. RIP.
Frances McDormand won best actress for Fargo.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but Henry Fonda won an Oscar for "On Golden Pond."
Jeez Louise. What does a guy have to do to get some respect up there?
Beaver always sounds guest...You such a pro...
