Font of youth

So as you can see, I went back to the original font size. Since it is the standard and anyone can easily enlarge their own screen, it seemed the best way to go. Thanks to everyone for joining the discussion.

Looking forward to Conan’s debut on TBS tonight. Will let you know tomorrow what I thought. And as always, I’m more interested in hearing what you thought. Except for the Anonymous crazy people, but they’re probably too busy still ripping me for criticizing the airlines and Traci Lords.

It's the right font for today's sophisticated readers, Ken, good call.

On another topic, I just looked at SFgate and their coverage of the documentary about Glenn Burke.

The article mentions your interview for the doc, and how you did an episode of Cheers based upon Burke's experience.

That was a good episode, it was a test for Sam Malone as well. He picked the wrong day not to read a book, but he stood by his baseball teammate.

Would be good to hear your background on this, I always thought it was a gutsy episode to run way back then.

Speaking of baseball, ESPN dumped your friend Jon Miller and Joe Morgan today. Too bad.

Maybe Jessica Alba could replace them, as baseball announcing does require a fair amount of ad-libbing.

And ESPN probably could use the goose in rating she would bring.

So you've standardized on a font size, but I still see several different fonts.

I can see dumping Morgan, but not Miller.

This size type is okay with me, Ken.

Conan is sure to please. Thoughts on Walking Dead?

Anyone who hates this font size can hold down their control key and press the + key a couple of times. Or hold down the control key and spin the mouse wheel.

If you are on a (vomit) Mac, substitute "command" for "control"

Having seen his show on NBC, his live show at Universal and now 1/2 way through his debut tonight:I think Conan O'Brien is fun but not funny.

Thanks for the tip Matt. I never knew increasing the font size could be so simple.

It's good to have Conan back on the air, and his opening filmed bit was really funny. I'll be glad to get to show #2, though, so we can finally get past all the talk about the recent unpleasantness (as we in the South call the Civil War) and get back to the regular day-to-day goofiness sans psychodrama. I want less talk about NBC pinheads and broken promises and more Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and Hannigan the Traveling Salesman.

One thing that bodes well for the TBS show, though: the studio is smaller and more intimate. The Tonight Show studio was way too big for comedy. NBC had the mentality that if they wanted to hype it as a really big show, then it had to be in a BIG room. Maybe it's because I'm both a comedy writer and an audio producer, but to me, the sound quality in there was just death for humor.

When Conan would do a joke, it would take two minutes to reach the back row, and the extended audience reaction time dragged out the pace and killed the timing. Also, in that giant space, every joke echoed like a water drip in a Parisian sewer. And it seemed as if he felt he had to shout to be heard, which made his delivery more manic and killed all his goofy little under-his-breath asides. The new set is much better.

"I went back to the original font size." Good to read that you caved to the people who still visit your website. Now, if you can reduce the number of embedded photos and videos, the people who still use Netzero would be appreciative.
