IBM is getting to be antiquated now. They are laying off workers left and right while the executives are all about boosting earnings per share. Salesmen are making sales that their engineers can't fill for the consulting division, and now losing contracts. The whole company could fall apart in five years.
Interesting to see Wayne Rogers with Harry Morgan. It makes me wonder what the sow would have been like if he had stayed as long as Larry Linville and interacted with Col. Potter.. As much as I like and respect Alan Alda, when I watch the early shows ( which I love), I see Alda get the lions share of the jokes, several of which could easily been given to Trapper. That's always kinda bugged me, but it's show-biz I guess.
These commercials debuted on U.S. TV on 2 April 1987. This new campaign replaced the one with the Charlie Chaplin character, who was played by Billy Scudder.

It wasn't antiquated when they were using it.

Saw Alan Alda on TV a couple of days ago, he's aging gracefully.
It's cool to know that Wayne Rogers stayed on good terms with the cast all those years later.

Alan Alda does not appear in the ad because he was under contract to Atari at the time.

I remember this. It was from the failed pilot for the proposed CBS series "LongAfterMASH".
