Superman: Christopher Reeve. No contest. No one has played the dual roles of Superman and Clark Kent better.
James Bond: I'm in a minority on this but Timothy Dalton. His Bond was serious and badass. He was ahead of his time. He did a gritty 007 long before Daniel Craig.
Darren Stephens: Was never really into Bewitched.
Dolly (as in “Hello”): Unless I've misunderstood the reference, Brie Larson.
Olsen twin: Neither. I like Elizabeth.
Sherlock Holmes: Jeremy Brett.
RoboCop: You have to ask this?! Peter Weller of course!
Danny Ocean: Meh.
Captain Kirk: William Shatner.
Lois Lane: Margot Kidder.
Norman Bates: Anthony Perkins of course!!
Elizabeth Bennett: Meh.
Batman: Michael Keaton is the definitive Batman and Bruce Wayne
Spiderman: Tom Holland.
Catwoman: Michelle Pfeiffer.
Wonder Woman: I love Gal Gadot but Lynda Carter was my childhood Wonder Woman and she still looks smokin'.
Anna Coleman: Jodie Foster.
“King Kong” heroine: Brie Larson.
Sarah Conner: Linda Hamilton.
Incredible Hulk: Lou Ferrigno.
Dr. Who: The one I grew up watching, Sylvester McCoy.
Favorite Doctor Who: Tom Baker

I'll take the original in most of those cases, the other ones, I'm not familiar.
Who’s your favorite Superman? Christopher Reeve
Who’s your favorite James Bond? Connery
Who’s your favorite Darren Stephens? Dick
Who’s your favorite Dolly (as in “Hello”)? Pearl Bailey
Who’s your favorite Olsen twin? are they really twins
Who’s your favorite Captain Kirk? Shatner
Who’s your favorite Lois Lane? Noel Neill
Who’s your favorite Batman? Will Arnett
Who’s your favorite Spiderman? Tobey Maguire (and that's Spider-Man)
Who’s your favorite Catwoman? Julie Newmar
Who’s your favorite Wonder Woman? Lynda Carter
Who’s your favorite Incredible Hulk? Bixby/Ferringo
And finally, who’s your favorite Dr. Who? Tom Baker
My favorite Superman? That would have to be my dad. I miss him more every day.
Who’s your favorite Superman?
Chris Reeve! I've liked them all, but Reeve really owned the role. None of the others have come close to his ability to make Superman and Clark believably two different people. And he made me believe a man can fly!
Who’s your favorite James Bond?
Sean Connery. Like many, the one I grew up with IS James Bond.
Who’s your favorite Darren Stephens?
Dick York.
Who’s your favorite Olsen twin?
The cute one.
Who’s your favorite Sherlock Holmes?
Basil Rathbone.
Who’s your favorite RoboCop?
Peter Weller!
Who’s your favorite Danny Ocean?
That's tough. I loved the original, but Clooney really made a great remake. I go with Clooney. Sorry, Frank. Our old agreement still stands, of course.
Who’s your favorite Captain Kirk?
The Shat.
Who’s your favorite Norman Bates?
Perkins. Freddy Highmore did a great job playing him on the recent series, but Anthony Perkins IS Bates.
Who’s your favorite Batman?
It will be hard for anyone to ever outdo Christian Bale's performance, and I even like what Affleck is doing with the character, but I grew up with Adam West, and he's The Man for me. And his Batmobile is still the best too!
Who’s your favorite Spiderman?
(It's "Spider-Man." says so on every issue's cover in huge letters.) I'lll go with Tobey Maguire. The other two have been fine, but Tobey made it work for me. I remember watching him fight Doc Ock on the train, and I turned to the wife and said, "I've been waiting forty years for this."
Who’s your favorite Catwoman?
Wow. Difficult! I go with Julie Newmar.
Who’s your favorite Wonder Woman?
Gal Gadot made her REAL. Apologies to Lynda Carter, but I'm going with Gal.
Who’s your favorite Sarah Conner? (“Terminator’)
Linda Hamilton.
Who’s your favorite Incredible Hulk?
Bill Bixby / Lou Ferrigno. Imagine what that team could do with today's budgets and effects.
And finally, who’s your favorite Dr. Who?
David Tennant! I came onboard with Eccleston, and am just not familiar enough with the earlier Doctors to compare, but Tennant was amazing.

Tom Holland nails both Spiderman and Peter Parker.
Michelle Phieffer
I really like Gal Gadot, but Linda Carter was one of my 1st crushes.
I am ashamed to admit that I liked Lindsey Lohan's Freaky Friday.
None. They're all portrayed awfully.

RoboCop: never saw it

Norman Bates: God, I'm terrible at names. In Psycho, was in Orson Welles' movie.
Elizabeth Bennett? (“Pride & Prejudice”): Greer Garson (such a crush).
Batman: Keaton
Spiderman: Alvin Sargent
Catwoman: Michelle Pfeiffer (meow)

Who’s your favorite “King Kong” heroine? Fay
Who’s your favorite Sarah Conner? (“Terminator’)
Who’s your favorite Incredible Hulk? Bill
And finally, who’s your favorite Dr. Who? Who?
Superman: No question, Christopher Reeve.
James Bond: Connery was better, but I grew up on Roger Moore, so he gets my vote.
Darren: Really, does it even matter?
Dolly: Carol Channing, simply because she's the only one I know in the role
Olsen: I subscribe to the John Oliver theory of them being one girl moving back and forth really quickly.
Sherlock Holmes: The one in the books.
RoboCop: Is there another RoboCop other than Peter Weller?
Danny Ocean: The original is great, but I think Clooney had more fun with it than ol' blue eyes.
Kirk: Shatner, every day of the week.
Lois Lane: Noel Neill. Margot Kidder always seemed too whiny to me.
Norman Bates: It's certainly not that "remake" guy.
Elizabeth Bennett: Joann Worley?
Batman: Adam West. Batman has gotten too dark to be enjoyable. The 60's version was cheesy, but at least it tried.
Spiderman: Beyond Superman (and 60's Batman), you can take all of the superheroes.
Catwoman: See above.
Wonder Woman: See above.
Anna Coleman: Jodie Foster
King Kong: Gotta go with Fay Wray
Sarah Conner: Linda Hamilton
Hulk: Lou Ferrigno. See above, but Lou wins simply because he didn't need special effects (beyond a can of paint)
Dr. Who: Not really a fan, but I'll go with Peter Capaldi, if for no other reason than he can do no wrong after playing Malcolm Tucker in "The Thick of It".
Cristina, please tell me you're kidding about Halle Berry being your favourite Catwoman.
In all cases but two, my answer is "the first one." I like Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and David Tennant as the Doctor (Tom Baker a close #2). No preference on the Olsen Twins, they're equally annoying.
Favourite MST3K host: Joel.
Favourite Popeye: Robin Williams.
Favourite Uncle Iroh: Mako (also my favourite Reciter from Pacific Overtures).
Favourite Joker: Cesar Romero.
Favourite Mr. Mxyzptlk: Gilbert Gottfried.
Favourite Wizard of Oz: Frank Morgan.
Superman: Christopher Reeve
Bond: Sean Connery
Darren: Dick York. If only the series had retained its initial romantic comedy approach...
Batman: Christian Bale. Has the gravitas of the original character from Bob Kane and Bill Finger.
Catwoman: Julie Newmar, whose physicality (which too often overwhelmed other roles she received) and sensual humor made this catburglar wonderfully vivid, despite the series' camp tone.
Wonder Woman: Lynda Carter, who simply looks more Amazonian than Gal Gadot, though the movie on the whole is superior.
Norman Bates: Anthony Perkins, who made the character iconic.
Sherlock Holmes: Basil Rathbone. (John Barrymore played Holmes in a 1922 version that was the film debut of William Powell.)
Ann Darrow (King Kong heroine): Fay Wray, though she was far more than a scream queen. Check her out in the 1928 von Stroheim silent "The Wedding March."
Dolly Levi: Carol Channing.
Lois Lane: Noel Neill.
For Batman, Billy Anderson from Walla Walla Washington. Better known in Hollywood as Adam West.
Superman: Reeve
James Bond: Connery, although George Lazenby is second
Darren Stephens: York
Dolly: Channing
Olsen twin: N/A
Sherlock Holmes: Rathbone, but to be honest none of the film/TV versions ever really captured the original character -- and they're probably more popular for exactly that reason. Not trying to be snarky, just realistic.
RoboCop: N/A
Danny Ocean: Sinatra (although I really like the Clooney version)
Captain Kirk: Shatner
Lois Lane: Hatcher
Norman Bates: Perkins
Elizabeth Bennett: N/A
Batman: Keaton
Spiderman: Maguire
Catwoman: Pfeiffer
Wonder Woman: Carter
Anna Coleman: N/A
“King Kong” heroine: Wray
Sarah Conner: Hamilton
Incredible Hulk: N/A
Dr. Who: Pertwee
Why I was lucky to grow up watching soap operas:
That unjustly maligned genre taught me at an early age that any actor can be replaced - at any time.
The lesson was clear; you can compare and contrast as much as you please - you can even have an overall preference if you like.
But the way so many people approach this is to treat fictional characters as a odd kind of "sacred trust" - and that's just silly.
Coming up on 70 (way too fast for comfort), I've seen a lot of the different characters on your list - and bypassed as many more, all voluntarily.
A a teenager, I started watching old Charlie Chan movies on Saturday afternoons.
Who was my favorite - Warner Oland or Sidney Toler?
And truthfully - why the hell did I have to choose?
Because I'm in a crappy mood this morning, I'll close with this personal observation:
My favorite Mike Karr was Forrest Compton.
*And I'll leave it to someone else to explain that one to you ...*
Otherwise, have a happy day!
Superman- George Reeves, Bond- Connery, Darren- Dick York, Catwoman- Eartha Kitt, Lois Lane- Noel Neill

Lois Lane-Ms. Kidder
Norman Bates-Only seen the original Psycho so Perkins
Elizabeth Bennett-Never seen P & P
Batman-Michael Keaton (He was also great as the villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming)
Spider-Man-Tobey Maguire though Tom Holland was more convincing as a high school student and he's more humorously appealing
Catwoman-Lee Meriwether from the '66 Batman movie
Wonder Woman-Ms. Carter for nostalgia, Gadot for modern portrayal appeal
Anna of Freaky Friday-Ms. Foster from childhood
King Kong heroine-Jessica Lange
Sarah Conner-Linda Hamilton, of course!

I've enjoyed reading everyone else's responses, and in thinking about my own, I tend to prefer whomever I encountered in the role first. I don't think it's *always* true, but when I think back, I'm finding those faces pop up in my mind first. I'm wondering if answers would change depending on what age we were when we first encountered them as well.
Who’s your favorite Superman? Reeves
Who’s your favorite James Bond? Timothy Dalton (perfect English gentleman spy)
Who’s your favorite Darren Stephens? Dick
Who’s your favorite Captain Kirk? There actually is only one: Shatner
And finally, who’s your favorite Dr. Who? Capaldi with Ecclestone as a close second
Superman? George Reeves.
[Now, if we're talkin' Clark Kent, that's Christopher Reeve.]
Bond? Sean Connery.
Darren? Dick York, no question.
Dolly? Pearl Bailey!
Olsen twin? No pref.
Sherlock? Basil Rathbone.
[Though Christopher Plummer was an excellent Holmes in MURDER BY DECREE, and Nicol Williamson was very good in THE SEVEN PER-CENT SOLUTION; Peter Cushing was a solid Holmes in Hammer's HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES.]
Robo? Peter Weller. Is there a question here?
Ocean? Francis Albert Sinatra.
Kirk? William Shatner.
Lois? Noel Neill.
Norman? Anthony Perkins. [Again, is there a question here?]
Liz Bennett? Jennifer Ehle.
Batman? Christian Bale.
Spidey? Paul Soles.
Cat? Julie Newmar.
WW? Shannon Farnon.

Teri Hatcher
And finally, who’s your favorite Dr. Who?
Tom Baker for classic Who, Peter Capaldi for new Who -- although I'm very excited to see what Jodie has in store for us.
Favorite Darrin? Dick York. No contest. Nothing against Dick Sargent (he was funny as the crooked country lawyer who tried to swindle Tony on I DREAM OF JEANNIE), but York owned that role with his animated, neurotic mannerisms, and that rubbery, expressive face.
George Reeves
Sean Connery
Ethel Merman
Basil Rathbone
Noel Neill
Bob Kane
And though you didn't ask but should have: Clayton Moore, Guy Williams and Gordon Scott
-30-
Pardon my stream of consciousness, but I think today will be a long scrolling day for comments anyway with a list like that.
I'm a Bud Collyer Superman buff. The radio show takes three years to get through if you listen to the MP3s every day, and one episode seems to last the exact time it takes for the 18 Bus to show up. Like any soap, you get attached the the characters. By the way, future Bette Davis spouse Gary Merrill plays Batman, and he's the fun-loving one. Agnes Moorhead played Lara, Superman's mother, the same year she acted in Citizen Kane.
Believe it or not, I have an autographed photo of George Lazenby as James Bond framed in my living room. It's a constant reminder to not screw up my career if I ever get one again.
Paul Soles is the most versatile Spider-Man, having previously appeared in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer as the elf who wants to be a dentist. He's still a mainstay of Canadian Radio.
My Favorite Hulk is Steve Ditko's, especially the time Bruce Banner's head refused to change over the huge green body and he had to wear a Hulk mask to keep his identity secret. They had no clue what to do with the character back then.
Frankie is the Only Danny Ocean (and I capitalize Only). Pity poor director Lewis Milestone, who had to go straight from one-take Sinatra on Oceans 11 to eighty-take Brando on Mutiny on the Bounty. He probably pined for the calm of All Quiet on the Western Front.
My favorite Sherlock Holmes is Peter Cook. Not that awful Hound of the Baskervilles movie, but check YouTube for an incredible TV sketch with Dudley Moore as Watson. You have to really love a character to do such an acidic parody.
My Favorite Elizabeth Bennett is Jane Austen.
Fay Wray forever, though her career burned out after an intense series of films. Because of the long delays in King Kong due to the special effects, the filmmakers had her alternating roles between that and The Most Dangerous Game during the same time frame. No matter which movie, she was still near nude, drenched, and running through the same damn jungle.
My favorite RoboCop is Jack Webb.
Who’s your favorite Superman? Christopher Reeve
Who’s your favorite James Bond? Connery
Who’s your favorite Sherlock Holmes? Cumberbatch (with an honorable mention for Nicol Williamson in THE SEVEN PERCENT SOLUTION)
Who’s your favorite RoboCop? Weller
Who’s your favorite Captain Kirk? Shatner
Who’s your favorite Lois Lane? Erica Durance (SMALLVILLE)
Who’s your favorite Norman Bates? Perkins
Who’s your favorite Batman? Christian Bale
Who’s your favorite Spider-Man? Tom Holland
Who’s your favorite Catwoman?Michelle Pfeiffer
Who’s your favorite Wonder Woman? Lynda Carter (Gal Godot is very good, but a bit off-model to be my favorite)
Who’s your favorite Sarah Conner? Linda Hamilton
Who’s your favorite Incredible Hulk? Edward Norton (I love Ruffalo and found Norton's film mediocre, but I think Norton is a better Banner on paper and would love to have seen him get ahold of the scripts Ruffalo got.
And finally, who’s your favorite Dr. Who? No strong feelings. . .
Superman: Tim Daly.
Bond: Daniel Craig.
Darrin: Dick York (I am genuinely shocked to see a non-zero number of "Sargent" answers here).
Olsen twin: Mary-Kate, for her role in BEASTLY.
Ocean: Sinatra, but just barely. Clooney was great.
Kirk: The evil one from the transporter accident.
Lois Lane: Dana Delaney.
Batman: Kevin Conroy
Spiderman: Tobey Maguire
Catwoman: Adrienne Barbeau
Wonder Woman: Susan Eisenberg
Anna Coleman: Lindsay Lohan. Did not care for the 1976 or 1995 films.
Hulk: Homer Simpson aka Angry Dad
All of my DC choices were based on '90s and early '00s animated incarnations. I have yet to see a film or live action TV version of Batman or Superman or Justice League that comes anywhere near them in quality, either of acting or writing.
Superman-- George Reeves
Bond-- Daniel Craig
Darren--Dick York
Dolly--Parton
Olsen Twin-- Elizabeth
Sherlock-- Benedict Cumberbatch
Robocop-- Peter Weller
Danny Ocean-- George Clooney
Capt Kirk--William Shatner
Lois lane-- Margot Kidder
Norman Bates-- Vince Vaughn
Elizabeth Bennett-- Greer Garson
Batman-- Adam West
Spiderman-- Neil Patrick Harris
Catwoman-- Julie Newmar
Wonder Woman-- Cobie Smulders
Freaky Friday--Jodie Foster
King Kong Heroine-- Jessica Lange
Sarah Conner--Never seen it....
Hulk-- Mark Ruffalo
Dr Who-- Jodie Whittaker
Superman: George Reeves for Superman, Dean Cain for Clark, Christopher Reeve for both.
Bond: Sean Connery (good balance of grit and suave).
Darrin: Dick York
Kirk: William Shatner
Lois Lane: Either Teri Hatcher or Erica Durance
Batman: Christian Bale
Spider-Man: Tom Holland
Wonder Woman: Gal Gadot
King Kong heroine: Is there one who doesn't scream through the entire movie?
The Doctor: Jon Pertwee
Superman? Helen Shaver. (I'm gender neutral. #MeToo!)
Bond? Connery, obviously.
Darren Stephens? Darren Stephens, obviously. I'm a Brummie, I know one.
Olsen twins? There's only one choice. I'm with John Oliver on this one.
Sherlock Holmes? Peter Cook.
Batman? Burt Ward. Promising lad. Deserved a promotion, I feel. Wasted on pornography.
Catwoman? Linda. My ex. You can fill in the details, but it involves a Siamese.
Sarah Conner? Don't be silly. See Catwoman.
Incredible Hulk? I refuse to answer on the grounds that I might incriminate myself.
Dr Who? I'm not even going to dignify that with an answer. A better question is, "Dr Who's assistant?" Many red-blooded males will go with Katy Manning, if only for the naked pictures with Daleks, but it's Louise Jameson all the way. Sexy, assertive, you name it, Ms Jameson nails it.
BTW: Answering "Sylkvester McCoy" disqualifies you automatically from every single other question, on the grounds of taste.
"Natalie Wood," though ... I could see that.
Classiest answer so far (though there are many excellent cameos): VP81955.
I won't try to make the whole list because there are so many I'm less familiar with, although I'll take George Reeves over Christopher Reeve for Superman. Funny thing--my dad, who loved the movies, watched one the other day and commented on how silly they now seem.
On Sherlock, it will always be Jeremy Brett, but even as purist I have a high regard for how beautifully the current Sherlock is being done. Cumberbatch would have been a great Holmes if the stories were set in their era, as he was in the episode where they went back in time. It may have been worth asking for the best Watson, because while Basil Rathbone was great as Holmes, Nigel Bruce played Watson (of his own volition or under orders) as something of a clod, which a doctor whose presence Holmes tolerated would have been unlikely to be.
Who’s your favorite James Bond?
Connery
Who’s your favorite Sherlock Holmes?
Jeremy Brett
Who’s your favorite Danny Ocean?
George Clooney
Who’s your favorite Captain Kirk?

On the only one that really matters: one of McCoy, Eccleston or Smith.
Otherwise I don't have a strong preference. Except maybe for Michael Keaton.
Presumably at some point in the future we can look forward to hearing the results stretched around about three hours of desperate attempts to do something that will play well on Twitter?
Most of these, I don't have a preference. But for these few:
Sherlock Holmes: Jeremy Brett
Captain Kirk: William Shatner (although Chris Pine is fine)
Batman: Kevin Conroy
Norman Bates: Antony Perkins
Catwoman: Julie Newmar
Wonder Woman: Lynda Carter (though Gal Gadot is fine, and was in the better version story and production-wise)
Favorite Dolly (as in "Hello") Louis Armstrong. i.e. His version of the song. And I can't believe that more people didn't choose ADAM WEST as favorite Batman.
M.B.
Being an old fart, my answer to most of them is The One I Grew Up With. Exception is Gal Gadot.
Dr. Who? Not Doctor Who? Again? Goddammit.
Only Peter Cushing was billed as Dr. Who.
Favorite Doctor Who is either Matt Smith or Peter Capaldi.
Michael Keaton could've been the most interesting Bat-Man.
I must be the only one who really liked Brandon Routh as Superman.
By the way, there used to be a great little office supply store right around the corner from my apartment. Time-wise, it probably saved me several years of life because popping over there for manila envelopes or legal pads took about as long as getting in and out of the kitchen.
It was also a great place to hang around in, since the owners had been there for years and would chat with all the regulars. One classy-looking lady seemed to love it there. Only later did I realize she was Julie Newmar. You'd have thought I'd recognize THE Catwoman at once, but I guess at a certain age a woman gives up spandex.

So Ken any comments?
For those still in favour of Sylvester McCoy as Dr Who: You do realise which actor finally killed off the original series, don't you?
Sylvester was very good in comedy skits with the Ken Campbell Road Show ("Nail in the Head," "Fork in the Y-Fronts" and so on -- he was nothing if not multi-faceted. Not to say masochistic). But in a serious drama like Dr Who?
Not so much.
And of the first four, plus an optional Peter Davidson, just because I fancy his wife.
It does my old heart good to see so many votes for George Reeves, the only real Superman. These voters are welcome to join me in the last row of the next Jimmy Fallon taping!
I believe that the original idea with Peter Cushing was to make him a time-travelling surgeon. Which would obviously be of more use, given that you're unlikely to be able to dole out prescription drugs to alien beings with wildly unusual physiognomies, whereas cutting into them with a sonic scalpel would make more sense. Peter Cushing was therefore better referred to as "Mr Who."
(Yes, I had to work on that one.)
Who’s your favorite Superman? George Reeves with Christopher Reeves a very close second. (Just because I grew up watching the old TV reruns with George before the movie.)
Who’s your favorite James Bond? Sean Connery, the quintessential Bond.
Who’s your favorite Darren Stephens? Dick York. Sargent was a poor imposter.
Who’s your favorite Captain Kirk? There is only one, William Shatner
Who’s your favorite Norman Bates? Anthony Perkins is the only answer.
Who’s your favorite Batman? Adam West. Not the best, but the kitchiest!
Who’s your favorite Catwoman? Julie Newmar hands down.
Who’s your favorite Wonder Woman? Lynda Carter, end of discussion.
Who’s your favorite Sarah Conner? (“Terminator’) How can you *not* say Linda Hamilton?!?
Who’s your favorite Incredible Hulk? Bill Bixby, and don't argue. If you argue I'll get angry, and you won't like me when I'm angry.
And finally, who’s your favorite Dr. Who? Who?
A perhaps more balanced look at the history of "Park Street Under" can be found here:
https://jacksonupperco.com/2016/03/30/before-cheers-a-look-at-park-st-under/
TL;DR -- "Park Street Under" was a locally produced Boston sitcom from the late 1970s. It was set in a Boston bar, and has some similarity to the later "Cheers" -- an ex-athlete bartender, a very bright waitress, etc. Could "Cheers" have been a rip-off of this local sitcom, which was generally unseen outside of Boston?
There are clips at the link above that will pretty much prove that even if the concepts of the two shows are broadly similar, the actual writing and execution aren't. Kind of like how "Car 54 Where Are You" and "Barney Miller" are both about New York city police officers, but they are not the same show....
Sylvester McCoy wasn't responsible for the demise of Doctor Who in the 80s. The BBC spent very little money, resulting in a cheap looking show, and the executives at the time admitted years later they didn't like the show and were keen to ditch it.
McCoy delivered a terrific and quirky performance that captured the humour and the enigmatic nature of the character.
@Brian O: nerd attack! Actually all of the first four, and Eccleston, were billed as Doctor Who. Just check out the credits.
So glad to see others have acknowledged Paul Soles. He and the other Canadian voice actors totally elevated the 1960s animated a Spider-Man above its cheesy stories and limited, recycled animation
I've met Julie several times; we're Facebook friends. I interviewed her when she appeared at a memorabilia show in NJ in 1997. She's not quite as imposing as she was in her heyday, but still a beauty. A bright lady, and quite funny too. (Her primary influences were Rita Hayworth for dance and Carole Lombard -- hooray! -- for comedy.) I adore her...and she's probably the prime reason this 5-foot-7 guy has such fondness for tall women.
Good God, this is a lot, so just a few, non-surprising choices: Superman Christopher Reeves, Batman Adam West (but Keaton in movies and Conroy in animation), Bond Connery, and Holmes Hugh Laurie (tho Rathbone and Cumberbatch are also beloved).
Oh, and Dr. Who Peter Capaldi.
I feel the need to add one more to my list:
Favorite Inspector Clouseau-Peter Sellers, of course! (Though I do like Steve Martin's interpretation of it in the two he made but Alan Arkin, I thought, lost me when his Clouseau said, "Everything I do, I ruin!") As for the two characters that replaced Sellers after his death-Ted Wass as Clifton Sleigh and Roberto Begnini as Jacques Gambrelli-they were pretty funny for their characters with Wass ahead of Begnini on that point...
My favorite Lois Lane was Joanne Siegel. Second favorite was whoever drew her in the 40’s era Superman Cartoons.
Ken, this is a great post.
I shared it (with attribution to you, of course) at another blog I enjoy (that is, to be honest, right-wing, but no we're not crazy). Hope that's okay.
Who’s your favorite Superman?
George Reeves, with Chris Reeve a CLOSE second.
Who’s your favorite James Bond?
Sean Connery, with Daniel Craig a close second.
Who’s your favorite Darren Stephens?
Dick Sergeant, but it's personal. I knew him a bit in his later years. He came and saw me perform a few times and was always enthusiastically supportive and friendly and warm.
Who’s your favorite Dolly (as in “Hello”)?
Carol Channing (I saw her play the role on Broadway in the original production when I was 15. There can be no other for me.)
Who’s your favorite Olsen twin?
Jimmy Olson and Bizarro World Jimmy Olson.
Who’s your favorite Sherlock Holmes?
Well, it has to be Jeremy Brett, but then Rathbone was perfect, Benedict is great, Peter Cushing is wonderful... You know, it's easier to pick the Sherlock Holmes I hate most - Robert Downey Jr. And Roger Moore (A bad James Bond, a bad Sherlock Holmes, he was a double-threat) and Peter Cook (Love him, but his Sherlock Holmes was wretched) and Matt Frewer (WHAT were they thinking?) and ... Oh dear. This is a long list also. I'm picky about my Sherlocks.
Who’s your favorite RoboCop?
None.
Who’s your favorite Danny Ocean?
Anyone who isn't Sinatra.
Who’s your favorite Captain Kirk?
Well, Shatner, but I'd rather shag Pine.
Who’s your favorite Lois Lane?
My darling Noel Neill, whom I had the joy of working with back in the 1970s, and who, right up into the 21st Century, always remembered my name and treated me as a friend.
Who’s your favorite Norman Bates?
Puh-leaze! Tony Perkins. The rest are all wanna-bes in Hitchcock's Drag Race.
Who’s your favorite Elizabeth Bennett? (“Pride & Prejudice”)
Iris Puett McEwan, aka my mom. She played her onstage in high school, long before I was born. I did not see it of course, but come on, she's my mom.
Who’s your favorite Batman?
You know, I've never really seen a Batman that I actually liked.
Who’s your favorite Spiderman?
None. Not into Marvel. I was a DC boy.
Who’s your favorite Catwoman?
Eartha Kitt! Period.
Who’s your favorite Wonder Woman?
Never liked the character, so none.
Who’s your favorite Anna Coleman (“Freaky Friday”)
Never seen any version of it.
Who’s your favorite “King Kong” heroine?
The immortal Fay Wray. Who else?
Who’s your favorite Sarah Conner? (“Terminator’)
There was more than one?
Who’s your favorite Incredible Hulk?
Well, it can't be Lou Ferrigno, because he voted for Trumputin, so he's dead to me. Have never seen any of the others, so none.
And finally, who’s your favorite Dr. Who?
Tom Baker. He was my first, and your first Doctor is always your Doctor. I love many of them. Here again, it's almost easier to list the ones I don't like: Hartnell (He was a homophobe and an anti-Semite. Fuck him) Colin Baker, so bad he almost killed the show. Chris Eccleston, because he disrespected Doctor Who, quitting, and bad-mouthing the show in interviews.
Who’s your favorite Superman? Christopher Reeve
Who’s your favorite James Bond? Sean Connery
Who’s your favorite Darren Stephens? Dick York
Who’s your favorite Dolly (as in “Hello”)? Like buttah was Barbra!
Who’s your favorite Olsen twin? Virginia Christine ("It's Mountain grown coffee.")
Who’s your favorite Sherlock Holmes? Basil Rathbone
Who’s your favorite RoboCop? Rosie from The Jetsons
Who’s your favorite Danny Ocean? Aquaman
Who’s your favorite Captain Kirk? The one with the hairpiece and the girdle
Who’s your favorite Lois Lane? Noel Neill
Who’s your favorite Norman Bates? Anthony Perkins
Who’s your favorite Elizabeth Bennett? (“Pride & Prejudice”) Dunno.
Who’s your favorite Batman? Adam West
Who’s your favorite Spiderman? Paul Soles (who was also Hermie the Elf, who wanted to be a dentist)
Who’s your favorite Catwoman? Julie Newmar
Who’s your favorite Wonder Woman? Linda Carter
Who’s your favorite Anna Coleman (“Freaky Friday”) 'Scuse me Ken, but her correct name is Annabel Andrews in the book and in the real movie, in which she was played by Jodie Foster
Who’s your favorite “King Kong” heroine? Sue Bond, from the cartoon
Who’s your favorite Sarah Conner? (“Terminator’) Linda Hamilton
Who’s your favorite Incredible Hulk? Mark Ruffalo
And finally, who’s your favorite Dr. Who? David "Uncle Scrooge" Tennant
Who’s your favorite Superman? George Reeves.
Who’s your favorite James Bond? Sean Connery.
Who’s your favorite Darren Stephens? Dick York.

Who’s your favorite Captain Kirk? William Shatner.
Who’s your favorite Lois Lane? Margot Kidder.
Who’s your favorite Norman Bates? Anthony Perkins.
Who’s your favorite Elizabeth Bennett? (“Pride & Prejudice”) Don't care.

Who’s your favorite “King Kong” heroine? Faye Wray
Who’s your favorite Sarah Conner? (“Terminator’) Linda Hamilton
Who’s your favorite Incredible Hulk? Meh
And finally, who’s your favorite Dr. Who? David Tennant
So often the answers to things like this are based on who you saw first that questions like this are practically an age test. I've seen hardly any of the rest of the list, still less multiple versions to compare (I think I watched the TV SUPERMAN series when I was a child and nothing since).
I believe Jeremy Brett was the Holmes closest to the original stories. But my heart will always belong to Basil Rathbone.
wg
I'll add my 2c for George Lazenby as Bond - because of the writing. OHMSS is the only Bond where the main character has any real sort of character arc.
Who’s your favorite Superman? Christopher Reeve
Who’s your favorite James Bond? Sean Connery (when I was a kid, I liked Roger Moore better because they were funnier.)
Who’s your favorite Darren Stephens? Dick York

And finally, who’s your favorite Dr. Who? Never watched this.
Like to give a tip of the hat to Peter Weller. I did enjoy the Jack Webb reference, but Peter was the favorite RoboCop of all those who answered seriously. I used to play baseball with him when he was in Los Angeles. Nice guy. Innntense guy. But he really created a lasting impression and character.
Congrats, Peter.

Mine too, played by Elizabeth Moss in Waldorf Stories (Mad Men). So-coined by Roger Sterling during their conference room victory lap.
Hi, Peter! You have a point about Catwoman. But, I am a James Bond fan and Halle Berry was a James Bond girl and therefore a certain sympathy...On a second thought, I have to admit maybe she is not the best choice possible. By the way, I always read you comments and questions and I like them. Very interesting and dynamic. And we have to say that Ken is the best in challenging us! Always exciting subjects!
No surprise that Shatner got 29 votes for Kirk (add mine for 30).
Chris Pine barely edged out Natalie Wood (who got quite a few votes for other characters) at two to one!
Never anticipated that Wood would be such a sleeper - or so versatile (or at least transparent).
Right!
