Jim's advice for how to act in a comedy writers room is great advice for every job. Take a bath, eat with your mouth closed, don't pout, don't be a dick and on and on.

Not really related to this, but I was amused to see today that SAG-AFTRA has lost a member after it became known that it was considering a motion to expel Donald Trump (because apparently inciting a riot at the Capitol Building contravenes union rules; who knew?). Yes, Trump quit before they could fire him: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/04/trump-quits-sag-aftra-after-union-acts-on-capitol-riot-incitement.html

I just read that the Republican Hauptsturmführer Marjorie Taylor Greene says California wildfires were caused by a Jewish space laser.

I'm really pissed off. The whole time I've known my Jewish friend she's never once told me she has a space laser. And she knows I love Star Wars! No fair!

I mean yeah, the main news is that the Republicans are happy to have a bona fide Nazi in their party, but let's not forget about the laser! Zap!

Speaking of shams, did you see that Emily in Paris was nominated as best TV series and actress? That is pretty funny, not the show but the nomination

There were a few MASH episodes in the earlier seasons that would have interiors shot at the ranch location. By Season 3 I think this pretty much stopped. I will say MASH was very good at match shots from exiting the Swamp interior on Stage 9 to exiting the Swamp on the Fox Ranch.

Whenever I think of Jim Vallely, or his comic partner, Jonathan Schmock, one thing immediately comes to mind: Mickey Rooney on a skateboard. One of the most bizarre and most hilarious gags I've ever witnessed.

So, you equalized the Bernie mittens meme to the frivolous "Not!" fad. Did you know that 40% of this country is food insecure (I guess soon-to-be trillionaire Jeff Bazos didn't get the memo) and that Bernie had sweatshirts made up with the meme on it and donated 100% of the proceeds to Vermont Meals on Wheels? The sweatshirts sold out immediately. Just saying.

I meant "equated," not "equalized." Oops.

Like Rashad Khan above, I remember the Funny Boys fondly. My two faves: conjoined twins on a roller coaster, and King Kong in his later years, married to Ann Darrow and doing the dishes. The little touches, like Kong squeakily cleaning a tiny plate, are burned into my brain all these years later. I'd always wondered what happened to them, so it's nice to know Jim Vallely has been successful since.
