Joe is doing a great job this week as Jeopardy guest host. In fact he is my second favorite guest host behind Ken Jennings. Too bad the sweepstakes is over. Although I don't think Joe would have given up his day job to host a quiz show.

I think his sports background really helped Joe Buck on J!. Setting the scene going into Double Jeopardy, for instance.

The Field of Dreams game telecast is now my all-time favorite from among what are now thousands of candidates. I cannot adequately explain why. But it’s far ahead of the pack.

Your buddy Joe was a big part of that. His humor, intelligence, and overall magic bag of tricks makes him the perfect choice to announce a one-off novelty like that, or anything at all for that matter. Put him on the Last US Chopper Out of Kabul telecast and I’m probably transfixed.

He’s a treasure. I don’t watch Jeopardy!, so I’m glad he didn’t have to choose between that and continuing on with sports. (But I did have tickets to see the first COVID-canceled J! taping, which would have been my first. Still saddened. I knew then and there would not be another chance to see Alex Trebek and what made him tick).
