Even when they don't play they lose

While reporting on today's Texas-Tampa Bay playoff game, KOMO-TV in Seattle ran this.   Even when they don't play the Mariners lose.
Congratulations to Roy Halladay who threw a no-hitter today in between Conan promos on TBS.

And already, the M's are a game out in the 2011 AL West. Gifted.

That graphics guy saw a lot of bad baseball this year.

I forgive him.

15 years of waiting for Reds fans, and that's what happened? That was an incredible piece of pitching. Roy was ready for the big show, congratulations to him.

They should practice more to defeat their opponent.

The good news is Cliff Lee was the winning pitcher in a AL playoff game.

The bad news is he wasn't pitching for the Mariners.

Mariners have to be one of the biggest disappointments of the year. On paper it looked like they had made some good off season moves but somehow it went terribly wrong.

This makes up for many years ago when the top of the hour CBS Radio news led with the headline that the MARINERS instead of the Marlins had won the World Series. I still have that sound bite somewhere!

How long before people start complaining that the Conan promos are just as annoying as the Frank TV ones that ran a few years ago?
