If you're a major fan of MAJOR DAD...

…check out Earl Pomerantz’s blog. Lately he’s been doing a series of posts on MAJOR DAD, a show he created. Even pilots that come out great and get on the air go through hell. Earl has that rare gift of being able to describe a nightmare through the use of whimsy. I’m really enjoying it. Thought you might too.

As it happens, I am a closeted Major Dad fan. Shhh. Don't tell the others. They will be jealous. ;-)

PS: Sorry I haven't been around much. Work and life a bit mental. I read when I can, and post comments even less often. Working on turning that around soon-ish.

Thanks Ken, I loved that show and haven't seen it for over a decade. Has been on for one stint and then never been shown again.

I've always been a big Major Dad fan. I sure wish they would release the show on DVD.

One of McRaney's other shows, The Promised Land was also pretty decent. Not great and kind of schmaltzy but I liked it in a Walton's sort of way. That too has never been released on DVD.

Guess I'll have to stick to Simon and Simon to get my G.M. fix! (Because watching Jericho again is out of the question)

My verification word is bonglech! Is that the sound one makes when the bong needs cleaning?

My verification word is "pockle." I assume it's short for pocket pickle. The verification words are getting much more fun lately.

I liked Major Dad, too. I saw Shanna Reed at the Burbank Public Library once.
