Now that the regular season is wrapping it up, here are my annual post season predictions – guaranteed to be wrong of course but that’s a tradition too.

AL MVP – Curtis Granderson (Yankees)

NL MVP – Matt Kemp (Dodgers)

AL CY YOUNG – Justin Verlander (Tigers)

NL CY YOUNG – Clayton Kershaw (Dodgers)

AL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR – Mark Trumbo (Angels)

NL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR – Craig Kimbrel (Braves)

AL MANAGER OF THE YEAR -- Joe Maddon (Rays)

NL MANAGER OF THE YEAR – Kirk Gibson (Diamondbacks)

WORLD SERIES – Texas & Philadelphia

RETIRING ANNOUNCER WHO SHOULD BE IN THE HALL OF FAME -- John Gordon (Twins)

Those look pretty good, especially Maddon.

Ken - is the Mark Trumbo prediction your choice, or is it your prediction of who is likely to win?

He hit a lot of home runs, but he's a pretty awful baseball player.

Go Phillies!

Sorry, Ryan Braun's clutch hitting and finishing second in the batting race (Jose Reyes is a wimp) in leading the Brewers to the Central title should win him the MVP. I salute Kemp's numbers, but as Branch Rickey once said to Ralph Kiner, "We could have finished last without you."

I think NL MVP should and will be Ryan Braun of the Brewers. They have their first division title in how many years? And whether you like to admit it or not, winning the division does help with these awards.

Go Cards!!!!!

Semi OT -- Ken, do you have first call on the trip to Tokyo to do the A's-Mariners series to open the 2012 season? Or are the Ms planning to go back to a full time team next season after the rotating announcers to replace Dave Niehaus this year?

Couldn't a good argument be made for Cliff Lee for Cy Young? He has great numbers this year, especially late in the season.

Verlander is the best pitcher baseball's seen in years. I can't imagine anyone voting for anyone else for the Cy Young award.

You have to put Tony Romo in there somewhere just because of the hat and the ribs... Wait.

How about Detroit's manager?

sorry if you mentioned it this week and I missed it, but are you going to continue as a baseball broadcaster, or do you become a RETIRING ANNOUNCER WHO SHOULD BE IN THE (sitcom) HALL OF FAME?

Epic Failure of the Year goes to the Boston Red Sox

Rethinking Kimbrel.

@Ray -- Reyes did what he had to do. And Braun went 0 for 4 anyway. And the Brewers are going to the postseason in any case. (How's the book going?)

I don't disagree that Braun is a worthy MVP. But if the Brewers had had another, lesser player instead of him, they still might have won. If the Dodgers hadn't had Kemp, they would have finished the season in Barstow.

Shared with the Atlanta (nee Milwaukee and Boston) Braves, whose collapse was comparable in its suddenness but is overlooked because their media and fan base aren't drama queens. ("No playoffs? No matter. When's the next Tech or UGa game?")
