BOBblehead HOPE

On Tuesday night's Dodger Talk on 790 KABC (and KABC.COM on the net) we got into a discussion on what's the most unusual Dodger bobblehead anyone has? It was a nice break from "when are we going to trade for a new starting pitcher?"

This is mine and I had to post it because my partner Josh Suchon and most of the listeners didn't believe me. But as you can see, it's for real. For some utterly inexplicable reason the club made a Bob Hope Dodger Bobblehead. I happened to be walking by a gift shop in the stadium and saw it in a display case. And of course I had to have it.

You know why he's so happy? They never made one for Crosby.

I was listening last night on the way home from the game. Loved the extended bobblehead conversation you guys had...got me home happy and my household was talking about it for awhile as well. Great nightcap for the Ethier bobblehead night.

I presume that was photographed at Casa de Levine,,,,is there anything you wouldn't want other people to know if they blew up the photo enough to read the papers on the bulletin board?

Say, Ken, that's a mighty handsome figure you got there.

Here in Cleveland, we NEED a real closer... so we'll trade you both of ours for that figure. Straight up. No returns. Maybe Bob for Bobbles Hope can AVOID GIVING UP FIVE RUNS IN THE NINTH TO LOSE THE GAME.

wv: mongun - What the bouncers at BD's Mongolian BBQ use on the REALLY annoying customers.

I gotta get me one those!

Also, we'll trade you Jeff Suppan and Doug Davis for a bat boy and bucket of GatorAde. (definitely a better deal for us than you)

Hey, isn't that the first draft of the long awaited "AfterMash" reunion?

Best baseball bobbleheads ever:

The ones distributed by the Washington Nationals of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Teddy Roosevelt.

Come get one of ours at Wrigley next week.

We will need a top relief pitcher. We can finalize the deal at Bernie's Wednesday night. I will be by the ATM on the side patio.

I'll bet the bobblehead is funnier than Hope ever was.

The Cleveland Indians can go one better. The day before Victor Martinez Bobblehead Night they traded to the Boston Red Sox....Victor Martinez! They probably just slapped "Desi Arnez" across the nameplate; they figured the fans wouldn't recognize one Hispanic from another.

If you want a real collectible, I'll sell you my Bob Hope's cue card guy bobblehead. (Bobble-Hope's-Cue-Card-Guy-Head. It comes with the Bobble-Hope-Head.)

Bob Hope was actually part owner of the Cleveland Indians many, many years ago. (Based on his inability to part with money, the current Tribe owner may have been under the tutalage of Jack Benny.)

Quite true. Actually, in response to that, the Indians entire front office and coaching staff spent the day with black magic markers, crossing out "Victor Martinez" and overwriting it with "Sandy Alomar."

Didn't work, and we lost that night anyhow. :P
