Thanks to reader Matthew for tipping me to this. From the site STUFF NOBODY CARES ABOUT comes a couple of out-takes from the famous whipped cream cover. As always, this blog uncovers the truly important stories of the day.
Hal Blain's wonderful drumming on that record helped me choose my later career.
How about a Top 10 album covers post Ken? I would include King Crimson's In the court of the Crimson King. Now that was an unforgettable cover that matched the music within. Something Whipped cream somehow did not quite achieve.

I have seen these before, and yes, this is an iconic cover alright.
She still signs autographs these days, though she dos not look quite like this anymore.
Too bad when clicking on the pics they are no larger than in the post.

On the original site they can be enlarged quite a bit.

I went to the website and was distracted by the saga of Hires Root Beer, slowly being snuffed out by the conglomerate that owns it.
I'm getting old.
Tiny additional fact of the day: she was pregnant when they shot this, which I think you might be able to tell from the 2nd shot.
