Who is the sexiest sportscaster?

Forget the damn Oscars! PLAYBOY has announced it’s top five nominees for the “Sexiest Sportscaster of 2008”! And it’s a hot competition this year, gang.

ESPN’s Erin Andrews (the Meryl Streep of this category) is looking to repeat. If the other contestants have to wear clothes then Erin is going to be hard to beat.

Also from ESPN – Bonnie Bernstein. I love the nose. She also knows her sports but when has that ever counted for anything with PLAYBOY readers?

Lauren Shehadi, from CBSSports.com made the cut. She’s got that girl-next-door thing working for her.

Fox Network’s rising star Charissa Thompson stands a good chance. You see her on THE BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW (well, you would if you ever watched that show). Proving her range she does football sidelines reporting for the Big Ten Network. Based on that assignment, she’s already been crowned Miss Wyoming even if she was only in the state for one Saturday afternoon.

And finally, there’s Molly Sullivan of the MountainWest Sports Network. She’s a former swimmer and next to girls in Catholic school uniforms, PLAYBOY readers really love that.

The winner will be announced February 12th. Next to the Peabody, this has to be journalism’s most prestigious award.

I can see it now, Molly Sullivan wins and then hangs with a mix of playmates and sportscasters inside the Playboy Club at the Palms in Molly's hometown of Las Vegas! Thank you Playboy, thank you.

I hate to sound dumb, and I don't even have the excuse of being Chinese or batting for the other team, but they all look sort of identical to me. I don't see any "girl-next-door" thing going on at all. At least I don't remember the girl next door to me having permatan, straightened nose and that sort of orthodontics.

How do you take seriously a sportscaster named Charrisa? That's like a French chef named Gomer.

Anyway, the sexiest female sportscaster is ESPN's Suzy Kolber. That's just one man's opinion.

WV - sumbra: next year's leading contender for sexiest sportscaster, or an undergarment she is wearing.

I have that problem everywhere on TV these days. I can't keep the young blonde ingenues or the young brunette ingenues straight anymore, although on a good day I might be able to tell them apart from each other.

Which is one thing I'm liking about the new season of 24: the actress playing Agent Walker is appealing and looks different from every other young actress on TV, at least to me.

There's an ESPN anchor named Bonnie Bernstein? Hmm...there was a character on the late, great Sports Night named Bobbie Bernstein...

How could they overlook Dan Dierdorf????

spmsmith - while I can keep some of the inegenues apart, I couldn't agree with you more about Annie Wershing on 24. Every time she comes on screen, I just go "wow". And she's a hometown (St. Louis) girl, to boot!

She was on the morning news show on the local Fox affiliate either right before or right after the premiere, and I remember looking at her and saying "she can't possibly be this hot on the show". Fortunately, I was wrong.

Oh, and she can act.

Ken,

I don't get the Wyoming/Big Ten Network reference.
Wyoming is not in the Big 10/11....am i just reading too much into the joke or do you know very little about college football?

Very underrated in Kimberly Jones, who is the Yankees 'sideline reporter' - and she is a legitimate sports reporter to boot!

She may be a few years older, but I still think Hannah Storm, who's now at ESPN doing Sportscenter weekday mornings, has still got it.

Hi Ken,

I'm interested in becoming a screenwriter and am planning on moving to LA next summer.

I was wondering if it's useful to belong to IMDb Pro to get more information about the industry. I already have a login with regular IMDb, but those message boards seem to be mostly fans commenting.

I'm about to buy the online subscription to the Hollywood Creative Directory, but is IMDb Pro worth the money?

Thanks, and your blog rocks!

So, does Deb Carson not qualify cause she's radio? Cause she's gorgeous. What are the nomination restrictions on this thing? Cause if I was her I'd be pissed.

They have this babe doing followup reports on Mariner's games. I don't know her name, but if they ever aired in 3-D you'd think her boobs were crushing you against the couch.

I have always thought Jeanie Zelasko looked like the girl from Team America.

Check out the resemblance below.
