Why TAXI was better

Fellow writer/blogger Earl Pomerantz has a GREAT post on why he thinks TAXI was better. And it's not why you think.

Check it out here.

Hasn't the place of 'live audience filmed' sitcoms been taken by the reality talent shows? The performers caper before the biggest audience they've ever seen, and three or four people get to snark at them afterwards - or if they're actually good, they get rewarded by progressing in the competition. Digital technology has made the editing of these shows so much more efficient.

While I agree with most of what he said, I wish he hadn't compared Taxi to Seinfeld. Taxi suffers in the comparison.

There is something about the form of TV that matters. I enjoyed Jeff Conway's work much better on TAXI than on CELEBRITY REHAB.

Oh, it seems we have "fellow bloggers" in the community now. Does this mean an upgrade? Awesome!!!

No comment, but my VW is gasbarn, which seems funny all by itself.

TAXI all the way.... waaaay better than seinfeld cant compete... seinfelds over acting over reacting and over compensating... TAXI WAS OUTSTANDING THE FUNNIEST SITCOM EVER! Everything from the opening theme music driving over queensboro bridge to the last second of each episode was PURE PERFECTION.... seinfeld copied some ideas with elaine and kramers character so obviously similar.... seinfeld was excellent but TAXI was phenomenal and original..... Sad that television will never be like that again.... shows made sense way back no more....
