First of May -- Jonathan Coulton

I can't think of a better way of welcoming in the spring. You'll be forwarding this I can almost guarantee. Thanks to my daughter Annie for alerting me to this joyous song.

This song is undeniably catchy...and it's not even one of JoCo's REALLY good ones. His whole musical library is irresistible, and most of it he gives away for free (although he won't say no to payment). What more could you want?

Will he perform live again?

JoCo is wonderful, and your daughter has great taste. He tends to play at the Largo/Coronet when he comes to L. A., and his supporting act, Paul & Storm, is great too. Well worth catching. He said recently that he's going to cut back a bit on the performing and write some new songs, but he'll be back.

Thank you! I think I have pretty good taste too.

He was recently at the Largo/Coronet in February. But he has a DVD of his live show in San Francisco called "Best.Concert.Ever" and it's great.

I was overjoyed when JoCo came over to the UK to perform (and I can confirm that Paul & Storm are awesome - find them on YouTube and listen to Nun Fight and The Captain's Wife). Jonathan is effortlessly clever, funny and charming - someday he'll break out from being a geek hero to mainstream, but which stream I can't predict.

If you only have time to listen to a couple of Jonathan's songs go for Re: Your Brains and Skullcrusher Mountain either of which I would love to see Ken use as the basis for a script.

Yep, JoCo is fantastic. Can second the Re: Your Brains and Skullcrusher mountain, and would throw in Code Monkey as well.

Also, his cover of Baby Got Back is whitebread awesomesauce.

All good JoCo songs, but my own personal faves are The Future Soon and I Crush Everything...
