Jessica Harper responds

I'm always amazed when I mention someone in my blog and that person responds.  Jessica Harper filed a comment regarding my recent post about meeting her in a bank.  Here's what she had to say (for the two or maybe three of you who don't read the comments).  Thanks, Jessica.  You're a sweetheart.

That is one fabulous story!
I would be lying if I said I remember the bank part (I DO remember the script) but I'm sure you were a perfect gentleman or I would have cut that conversation short!...and you were very gracious about the audition...these qualities make you a rare and compelling person in Hollywood!
Thanks for your kind words, and for sharing my link with the world. Hmmmm....wonder where we'd be today if I HAD gone out with you...? Food for thought...!
All the best Ken!
Jessica

That is a sweet story. And you have to like an ending that's tantalizingly filled with intrigue and unanswered questions.

On an utterly unrelated note, thank you for coming to Seattle and being the lucky charm that got the Mariners a sweep over the A's. Stick around, please!

Awwwww. I love that she commented on your blog.

A fun Hollywood story made even better.

OK my crush just got bigger. That's so cool of her to respond.

Look, now you're rejected on a first-name basis! She's a class act and the cute story gets another chapter.

What's happened to the M's? A team with fewer hits than the Bobby Fuller 4 suddenly becomes the leader of your hit parade? Are you their lucky totem? If so, you realize you have to stick it out for the rest of the season.

You may now wander about the cabin.

Just lovely. But why didn't you mention how she stalked you and cooked your pet rabbit?

Very cool, now if I could get Karen Valentine to write on mine.

Ken,

Might you have any insight on this question over at Ask.Metafilter?

"Winchester calls Klinger a Riff in Season 7, Episode 1: Klinger is offended and informs/reminds Winchester that he (Klinger) is Lebanese. Who are the Riffs or what is a Riff?"

Come on, please don't pretend the twenty something kid inside you wasn't hoping this is exactly what she'd do.

You posted a link to her blog. Of course it's going to reach her.

BTW, have I ever told you about the time I bumped in to http://www.jenniferlovehewittonline.com/

I have a Friday question...I was watching a favorite 1970s show that had a bonus "Where Are They Now" clip for the DVD.

The men looked about how you would expect. But several women had opted for extreme plastic surgery--I found myself really distracted as they spoke--gaping at the unflattering results.

Do you ever run into people you used to know back in the day now rendered unrecognizable? How do you handle that?

Awesome of her to respond!

Great story, Ken! She's a classy lady, and, if you'd acted like a dolt at the time, this would never have happened.

M's seem to win when you're in the booth, Ken.

Off topic but I thought of interest...
Brian Fies (http://brianfies.blogspot.com/ )writes:

"Want to see how the same building looked in "Superman," "The Andy Griffith Show," "Star Trek," "The Untouchables," "Land of the Giants," "Lassie" and "Batman"? These guys can help you with that.

"It's all at the Forty Acres website. If you grew up watching TV and films from this era, these streets may seem like old familiar friends to you. It took me a minute to get the hang of navigating the site; use the tabs at the top to select topics. Clicking on most photos magnifies them. It all interesting--like I said, for some tiny proportion of the population (I'm looking at you, Lynch and O'Kane)--but I thought the real gold was in the four-part "Virtual Tour."
