Get well George Wendt

George Wendt is having a medical procedure done in Chicago and is expected to make a full recovery.  If you would like to send George a "get well soon" note, you can leave it in the comments section and I will make sure he receives it.    Thanks much.

Thank you Mr. Wendt for all the entertainment.

I'm also a native Chicagoan. Don't watch 'da Bears. It will only upset you.

Doc, Doc, Doc, Doc, Doctor.

Mr. MD.

Please take care of George W., and we don't mean the former president.

This Mr. Wendt is about to entrust his life to you, and given how much pure joy he's given us, don't screw up.

The future of comedy is in your hands.

GET WELL SOON! I had the pleasure of seeing you onstage twice (in Minsky's and Re-Animator) and you have such tremendous presence, it's a wonder they managed to fit it on the small screen!

I look forward to many more years of entertainment!

Mr. Wendt, I want you to know that I've been listening to the Elf cast recording all afternoon at work and enjoying it so much. I don't know why on Halloween I wanted to listen to something Christmasy, but I did, and I love your part in it. I always enjoy your performances! Get well soon!! -Tara

Dear Mr. Wendt,
Thank you for all the years of entertainment! I've enjoyed your work on "Cheers" "Becker" as well as "Fletch" and "The George Wendt Show".

Please get well soon! Prayers to you and your family.

Dear Mr. Wendt,

My prayers and best wishes to you for a speedy recovery.

Thank you for giving me something to laugh for every Thursday night for eleven years, plus whenever I caught a rerun in syndication. Now I get to laugh more often again with Cheers through my digital streaming subscriptions (either Netflix Instant or Amazon Prime).

Anyway, you made Norm Peterson a really lovable guy, and I wish most other people in the world (myself included) were more like him, at least more often.

PS: A very Happy Belated Birthday to you too!

George -- every so often I think about the moment in your first episode of "The Naked Truth" when you walked on stage and clearly delighted an entire audience that wasn't expecting to see you. I thought it was heartwarming then, and I still do. You've brought a lot of joy to a lot of people, and I wanted to join everyone in wishing you a speedy recovery.

No one could've sold that line like George Wendt. Get well really soon. We need you in our lives, always.

I'm currently watching Cheers right the way through. I'm at the start of Season 10, and the show is still hilarious. It wouldn't have been the same without Norm.

I hope you make a speedy recovery, Mr Wendt. Thanks for the laughs!

Prayers from Texas for a full and speedy recovery. My wife and I loved your comedic work on "Cheers," "SNL," et al, but we also saw you on stage in Dallas in "12 Angry Men" and know what a powerful dramatic actor you are as well. Hope you get back to exercising all your talents very soon.

I think Samuel Butler said one of the best "get well" quotes, so I'll leave you with this:

"I reckon being ill as one of the great pleasures of life, provided one is not too ill and is not obliged to work till one is better."

Get Well soon Mr. Wendt!

George, in light of your being a cast member of my all-time favorite sitcom and someone who also starred in a movie with Jenny McCarthy, I wanted to tell you that I've been living vicariously through your career for many, many, MANY -- Damn! I almost made it all the way through that! :-)

Best wishes for a speedy recovery! God Bless!

George -

I hope you make a full recovery and that you'll be up and running soon. I'd like to personally tell you that your work, all those years ago, became a part of who I was: just a kid who would flip on the TV and be invited into this magical place every Thursday night. I can't imagine not having those wonderful memories as a part of who I was then, and who I still am now. I cherish those times.

Thank you for making it happen.

Hi George!

Before moving to Phoenix 5 years ago, I was a born and bred resident of Chicago. I was fortunate enough to see you and Tim Kazurinsky at Second City...I think it was 1978, B.C.(Before Cheers). I had you and Tim pegged to end up on SNL soon after that. I was half-right, unless I count The Superfans, which I will, because they were classic!

It was the best night I ever saw out of many visits to Second City. Thanks for that! And all the laughs and entertainment you have brought me over the years.

I hope you and Tim do make it onstage to do "The Odd Couple" sometime down the road. But most importantly, get healthy and stay healthy! We don't want you "Dead gone dead, right fuckin' there!"

To go with Antonio's Emmy and Lowell's Oscar, and whatever Woody has done, I should add that George Norm dominated his appearance on The Weakest Link, to the point where the other contestants realized they oculdn't beat him and voted him off early, and was the only person to not be attacked by the host.

Mike said...

You've provided me, and countless others, many moments of laughter over the years, Mr. Wendt. Get well soon.
